What perhaps stunned her the most about Jessica’s past was that the woman was a former marine officer. The only reason Fiona knew of the marines’ existence was due to her knowledge of the Shichibukai. Since the empress of her island held such a position, the Kuja knew about the World Government sponsoring these two forces. Still, that was quite unfortunate. And here she thought her future pirate crew could recruit this brawler, but an ex-marine probably wouldn’t change to the other side just like that. After all, it was well known that marines and pirates are viewed as polar opposites.
Upon hearing the words that the life of a marine simply didn’t suit the ebony haired woman, there was a part of Fiona’s heart that felt at ease. If she was to ever seriously to form her own pirate crew, then maybe there existed some hope after all in recruiting this strong, female brawler. The two of them were from drastically different worlds. West Blue and the Calm Belt were astronomically far apart. They clearly lived in two very different lives, one experienced with the world and one deprived of that experience.
“I think I’ll prepare to sleep then,” the green-haired dame still hadn’t even planned out where she would sleep for the night. Sliding off her stool, she bowed her head a bit, “Thank you for your hospitality.” And with that, the Kuja exited the bar.
At the inner border Enkai, there was a divide between the town and the jungle. The dark heaven was glittered with stars that were more visible when further away from civilization. A half-moon illuminated its glorious white light that became Fiona’s guide around these areas. The makeup of this city had been quite unique on its own. The houses were connected with a network of wooden bridges that acted as platforms over the water. In addition, there were several waterways, all linked to a much wider one that streamed down the middle of the city. The homes of these people weren’t nearly as sophisticated or as large as the ones found in Amazon Lily. In fact, the structures found here appeared a lot more primitive.
Standing idly in the field of grass, she felt a gentle breeze brushed against her hair from the side. For several heartbeats, the warrior closed her eyes to aid emptying and calming her mind. Slow, quiet, deep breaths through the nose were the only actions she focused on.
Having slept for so long already, Fiona had plenty of rest in the form of sleep already. Food and water was all she needed after having been deprived of it, and now that such sustenance filled up the void in her stomach thanks to these kind folks, she needed to kill some time to adjust her sleep cycle. For a while now, there was a level of impatience surging through her veins, wanting to test it out again and again.
Green, needle thin cones then extruded out her ten digits before firing half of them with a fling of her hand. Overlapping sound of impalement of wood echoed into the cool atmosphere as the Vine Human aimed her attacks towards a large tree trunk. Flinging them like pin-sized daggers hindered the girl to aim properly. With the next round of her other hand, she stabilized it this time, aiming as if she wielded an imaginary flintlock. Upon release, the projectile traveled closer to what she intended the trajectory to be.
After practicing her shooting with these thorns, Fiona soon realized something quite miraculous. No matter how many times she shot them, she never seemed to run out of them. That held true after beginning to grow out her vines at the end of each fingertip. Taking her time, independently, the Devil Fruit user focused on honing in on control and refinement over these lively appendages. Whipping them, whirling them, shooting them forth, these vines were extremely versatile in how they can be used. They can slither like serpents, bend like ropes, and be manipulated like additional limbs. By combining what she knew so far, she can forge these vines to have a thorn on their ends to pierce and impale the trunk before her.
Throughout the early spectrum of the night, the Kuja warrior kept on practicing and training until she could utilize these powers more proficiently.
