”It’s almost time”, he thought as he crushed his cigarette against the wall turning it off. The alley that he was in was faintly lit by the moon light so no one could make out what happened inside. In order to climb up the wall and take his weapons along with him, Hikaru needed to resort to the hybrid and rather larger form of his devil fruit. He picked up his suit and his guns and transformed. His face turned into that of an ant with mandibles and so did his torso. The handsome looking man was now all hairy and had four legs along with the ability to climb walls. So he took a vertical stroll up the wall and reached the top. He returned back to his human form and immediately began to set up. It was not the perfect spot but it would have to do. The street was close by, he had to be seen in order for the plan to work. Not really a good thing for a sniper but blowing the cover was part of the strategy. As the treasure draw near, he was already prepared.
The sniper set nicely against the wall, the silencer fit and him staring through the scope. ”So first, I find this guy I’m not supposed to shoot”, he looked around the marines as they got closer. One among them stood out the most: a rather large individual. For a moment, he felt like the tall figure had just looked at him and smiled. Well, if that was remotely the case then this was the guy he wasn’t supposed to shoot then.
Hikaru’s chosen location was quite the smart one. He had found a roof from where he could see the streets and he too was visible. However, finding him wasn’t easy because of the clothesline that still had clothes swaying around on it. So, someone on guard may spot him but the crowd moving around wouldn’t. The treasure and their guards got within his range and he awaited until at least one marine had spotted him. A few marines looked towards him but didn’t notice so he too did not fire. Until finally, one veteran got suspicious and stared in his direction. Hikaru loaded a bullet into a gun, a hostile gesture to say the least. As a reflex, the veteran aimed his gun and fired towards him. As luck would have it, the bullet barely missed his head and scratched past his shoulder. A few inches and his ear could’ve been blown off or he would’ve lost an eye.
The sound of gunfire got everyone’s attention as Hikaru stood up on the roof hiding away the sniper. He yelled at the top of his voice, ”Save yourselves, these guys are gunnin for us!!”. Panic followed after, people began to run around as the marines took defensive positions. Hikaru too ducked making sure that chaos would soon begin. Now, the gunslingers of the island were alerted and soon gun fire could be heard. A fight began between the marines and the locals, according to their plan.
