Aluco simply listened as Konaa recalled the race they had had the previous day, but by his initial response it was obvious that other things were on his mind. At least he attempted to cover his tracks, unnecessarily at that, giving away the disappearing act he had pulled. Really, it did not upset Aluco at all, she was used to people dropping out on her, something which her alter ego saw as a sign of weakness.
Aluco remained there, listening to Konaa's babbling, eventually recognising the kind of question her comrade was trying to ask. It was certainly not a strange question, all had there reasons for doing something, some were noble intentions, others not so. To most, it seemed like Konaa was trying to get a hold on his own feelings rather than get a true answer, but Konaa was always rather forward and blunt in his manner of speech, which she took as the complete truth. That was just the way she was, though her other personality was making her a little more analytic than usual.
"Well," Aluco began, "I guess I just like to work. I like to be doing something that could make a difference. If we all work hard, the world will be peaceful, right?"
Aluco's youthful naïveté was certainly showing, the exact opposite to her darker side who saw everything for what it truly was. While one side was blinded by smoke and mirrors, the other watched the inner workings of the world--all the corruption and disorder--taking its toll. Both strived for justice, but while one fought for righteousness, the other pursued justice in its most absolute form.
