Garrulous civilians scattered across the streets below like little crawling ants. All of them seemed quite loquacious and vociferous today, but Xeno remained silent as a stray cat while nonchalantly observing the entire island from high above on a flat rooftop. The marines back at the base were too overwhelmingly busy that brought discomfort to him, so he concluded that today he will take a break. Isolating himself from everyone and everything, The Black Reaper was placidly relaxing with a new sense of scenery than anyone else.
Power was the keystone in this erroneous world; power was everything! Marines and pirates were always in conflict with each other despite how superfluous it was. Obtaining power was arduous, but someday he would obtain it. The more power one has, the more one can inflict a difference in this world and debilitate the weaker ones. “How am I going to get stronger?” Marine soldiers fought only because they were told to fight by their superiors. Xeno abhorred being told what to do! His conviction of justice was not the same as the marine’s sense of justice. Just like how there were good pirates and evil pirates there were good marines and evil marines. Why did he seek power? Life was just a game, and he wanted to win! To win, power was absolutely necessary. Winning was human nature to him. Also, who was going to win: the pirates or the marines?
Today, in particular, remained equivocal! Just a gut feeling or an intuition told him that today, something was going to change. Life was one prodigious battlefield; there was never a guarantee of what would occur. Whether it was good or bad, Xeno awaited for the action that he seeks. The past few weeks had been terribly boring, and as of right now, he was about to fall into a deep slumber if everything remained this prosaic. Everything was too normal; some change or action needed to happen. In the very end of his patience, if nothing had changed, then he was prepared to change it anyways. “I wonder… How will this day play out?”
Opening his eyelids, Xeno remained lying on his spine with his hands cushioning the back of his skull, taking a little break. “…I wonder if anyone from the base had noticed my absence yet. Oh well… it’s too late to turn back now.” A soft lovely breeze blew past his short black hair as the atmosphere was much fresher at this elevation. He inhaled with his nose, but exhaled with his mouth. For the time being, he dropped his guard entirely and cleared his mind empty.
