-Kikuya-
Finally coming to, the world was fuzzy and dim for Kikuya. The dry heat she had felt when she was outside had been reduced quite a bit but the air now seemed stuffy and thick by comparison. Her back felt stiff and painful and a headache persisted straight out of her stupor, throbbing lightly but causing great discomfort combined with her stiff back. Recovering her perception of the world around her soon, it became apparent that she had been standing, and attempts to move were quickly met with resistance and failure. As best she could she tried to see what was restricting her but her arms were behind and there was positively no room to see even the slightest clue of her predicament, not regarding the bindings at least.
Looking up and down, Kikuya could see that she was bound to a post in the middle of what appeared to be a tent, light seeping in through the space between threads, veiling the interior of the tent in a dim gingham glow. The opening to the tent must’ve been closed because she couldn’t find any clues of one in front of her and there was no substantially brighter light present in the tent. She was still dressed in the robes she left the ship in, easing her mind that no one had taken advantage of her while she was out… at least for the time being. It also became clear that whatever was keeping her tied to the post was the only thing binding her at all, nothing around the waist, nothing around her feet. Wriggling her hands a bit, she tried to get a feel for what was keeping her hands together behind the post. It was coarse, giving her the initial impression that it was some sort of rope, but at the same time there was a sort of smoothness. It felt like a sort of cable or wire, same feel as what they used to capture her perhaps. If she could find a way to cut it, she’d be able to escape.
She snaked her torso around in her confined state but there was no luck. She didn’t expect her captors to leave her weapons within her custody but they also took her pill box it felt like. It was important that she got both back but they only took secondary importance to the matter of escape. Intent on such a priority, Kikuya began to look around the tent for something she could exploit or use to her advantage.
-Basil-
While Haseo ran to the fire, Basil kept a walking pace, still somewhat exhausted from his work with the water. A fire out in the middle of the desert, how interesting. Basil had initially thought it might have been a drought fire or something to that extent but there was an entire campsite. Clearly, this island wasn’t as uninhabited as he had first surmised, the fire was still going which mean the site was fresh. Potentially still in use. Sure enough as Basil drew closer he noticed the tent was still in standing condition and likely still in use.
“Oi Basil!” There was no sense of courtesy or espionage in Haseo’s actions, spurring a slight look of shock from Basil.
“There’s one for each of us!” He gestured the fish roasting by the fire, lulling even more exasperation from Basil, who by this point had picked up his feet a little so he could stop Haseo from making an ass of himself. He forced a whisper but at the distance he might as well of spoken normally “Haseo, don’t! You weren’t offered any. Besides, we don’t know who-”
The tent door flew open and a wild man came out, swinging flaming swords around violently in a show of technique as he verbally accosted the two of them. "How foolish are you! Taking food which is not yours!"
“Great. You see what you do?” Basil gave Haseo a sharp look as he pulled his own two rapiers from their sheathes, holding the main of which in front of him between him and the assailant and the shorter behind him in a defensive grip, though they only reached that point after his own brief flourish. It was mostly to show that he wasn’t intimidated, even by the vibrant fire, and even though Haseo was the one to blame for this, Basil wasn’t one to simply be apprehended without a chance to defend himself or his idiot friend. It was more an endearing term he could apply to Haseo but this was just unfortunate. “I’d like to say this was a misunderstanding but I wouldn’t accept that myself. You stand down and we’ll leave, quick and easy.”
