It was unfortunate that the words were wasted on Bandit. Too many things currently clouded his mind to concern himself with the matter as someone believing that Moki was falling for him.
He was angry, tired, hurt and most of all thrown by the fact he had met a devil fruit user and this combination of thoughts along with the added strain of work and the encounter with Dijin had left Bandit approaching exhaustion. He was thankful for a moment that Moki was hugging him because it meant that he wouldn't collapse yet from the days labors caving in on him.
Moki and Rex would perhaps be upset when or if they realised that he was almost losing consciousness but perhaps it was better this way. If he did understand what they were saying he wouldn't be able to reply. Nothing had changed from the few hours ago that they had met.
Maybe if they had known each other for longer, maybe if he had a reason to fall in love with Moki, maybe if he didn't ignore the fact that Moki would be gone as soon as a pirate crew she wanted to join arrived, maybe if he understood why Moki for some reason loved him, then maybe there would be hope.
His thoughts were briefly interrupted as Moki pulled away from him. The sudden realisation that he no longer had someone supporting his body weight dawned on him and he quickly managed to secure some strength which allowed him stay standing. He lazily watched as Moki ran off before turning back to him and Rex, "Well come on... the sooner we get you two fixed up and get some rest the sooner we can go see Blue..."
"No...I'm going back to the bar" Bandit spoke instantly before turning on his feet and walking towards that remained of the bar with a drowsiness in his step that seemed similar to Dijin's. After a few paces he stood in front of the bar and looked over the damage once more.
"Oi...what did you find?" Bandit called out to the seemingly empty piles of rubble that remained of the Crushed Ice Bar. There was silence for a moment, and for a second it would seem like Bandit's exhaustion may have got the best of him.
"It's ok...Cold Eyes and Fire Bandit aren't going to hurt you or me" Bandit called out before walking up to a large chunk of stone that used to be a wall and peering behind it.
From behind the wall appeared two men cowering around a charred chest that Bandit had seen been pulled out of the wreckage earlier. Their bodies shook and tears poured from their eyes and snot poured from their noses, clearly terrified of the idea that Moki and Rex stood a few metres away.
"W-w-we wanted to s-stick around and g-give it to y-you" One of the men spoke as they stared at Bandit whimpering, "W-w-were n-not thieves we s-swear"
Silence went by as Bandit looked the two men over before bending down and opening the charred chest that they held. He briefly glimpsed at it's contents before he slowly stood up. The two men starred at him with a panicked expression on their face.
"Thank you" Bandit spoke simply before he collapsed over the chest and wrapped his arms around it. It was the only possession that had managed to survive the brutal attack. And although it's contents were cheap, it now meant the world to Bandit. It wouldn't matter who came up to him and tried to pull him away, he wouldn't move from the spot.
