But then... Just how was she supposed to get him up? Kaede was sitting on the raft staring down with a blank expression, trying to figure that out. After all, she hadn't thought to bring a rope or throw down a ladder.
"..." Kaede kind of turned gloomy as she realized her mistake. The gloominess continued as she struggled not to admit to herself that she had messed up. Instead she just stared more at the unconscious boy in front of her as though trying to stare him awake.
Hey, anything was possible, right? Maybe then he could help her out of this situation.
Or, in extreme cases, humans had in history resorted to eating other humans. Kaede thought about it and was just about to agree with the reasoning that those peoples had had when someone shouted down from above.
"Guess I'll have to research that some other time," Kaede said to herself calmly, slipping her notepad back into her pocket non-chalantly.
"We're fine..." Kaede said but she didn't really call upward so it might not have even been heard. Her voice was too soft and low for it to carry all that distance. Another voice called down a moment later, this time of a boy.
Kaede looked upward as the boy asked if they needed help and told them that he had something useful.
"I suppose so..." Kaede said back before sort of starring at him when he asked what he would get for it. Maybe not getting kicked in the face later was a good reward? Kaede sort of nodded her head at that and smirked.
The life buoy was still thrown down. Kaede caught it and quickly worked to put the unconscious guy in a safe position so that he would be pulled up. She bound him just for good measure.
"Alright, done," Kaede called up with a wave of her hand. She then watched and waited on the raft for the buoy to be lowered again toward her.
