Hanabi calmly waited for Chris to close the distance, watching his body move with a soft gaze, no specific focus in her eyes. On her other arm a second shield formed. Both shields were two foot circles on each arm. Her stance ready to initiate a counterattack once Chris made his opening move.
Putting one foot in front of the other she started to calmly walk towards him, she didn't run, she didn't leap or bound or charge she simply started to close the distance to him her arms ready to move in defense against his blades. Her injury stung but it wouldn't slow her down in this battle. What would likely slow anyone down was the injury in Chris' legs. Possibly Pulled Muscles or Cracked Bones.
Hanabi when Chris would enter sword range would step in the second he was within inches of drawing range, putting one shield on level with Chris' swords so that, unless he moved he wouldn't be able to fully draw them and with her other aim a shield bash quickly towards his midsection. Her focus with the shield bash was a rapid, quick bash instead of power, the blow, even amplified wouldn't take Chris out but it would make him think twice if it hit and possibly start the battle off in Hanabi's favor.
Hanabi was ready to defend as well, the full extent of her ability was not released and Chris was not the practiced close combatant that she was. She still had weapons left, and Chris only had his two blades. While he was good, she could tell by his form, he had not spent his entire life training in close combat, in gladiatorial combat. Many people mistook gladiators for brutes with no mind in combat and filled with rage and raw power. However the truth was far different. When you entered the ring you never knew what was going to be coming from the gate across from you. It could be a man, animals, several people, or even a monster. You simply had to be ready and flexible enough to deal with anything that came your way with an even head.
