With the blond fiend taken care of and the group having avoided contact with the unfortunate, random home owner, the trio continued on in their delivery. It now seemed Dayton was enormored with Jun's strength, directing the previous amazement he had with Gavin to the scribe. Jun was much more effective in dealing with the unwanted attention for his combat prowess, suddenly shifting the focus back onto the dopey musician with a rather clever tactic.
“You know when Gavin goes to sleep like that? He was actually lending me his strength.”
The musically-inclined wandered blinked a few times at his writer companion, not quite sure how to react to the situation. A puzzled look crossed Gavin's face, a thoughtful finger tapping at the stubble on his chin. The musician was putting just as much thought into the concept as Dayton. Even the young apprentice blacksmith was skeptical of the validity of the statement. Surely the muscian, being much older than the boy and having no prior knowledge of even having the ability to lend people his strength in his sleep, would outright deny that he could accomplish such a feat...
“Ummm, I can do that?” Gavin asked Jun, a bit of surprise showing through the usual sleepy haze that coated his words. Truth be told, the troubadour was rather amazed that he possessed such an ability. It was the first he had heard of it, and how he came to possess it was a mystery to him. Dayton had come around to buying into the scribe's claim as well, joining Gavin in the gullible crowd. At least Dayton had an excuse... he was like five. Or something? I don't know.
"Can you try that on me next, Gavin?! I wanna kick some butt too, y'know?”
Gavin looked to the sky for a moment, wondering if lending the boy his power was such a good idea. Was he ready? Was he responsible enough to handle it? On the other hand, it definitely sounded like an open invitation to sleep... Gavin was all over it.
“Yea man, I can try.”
With that, the musician came to a stop on the street. Foregoing the route of sleeping on his feet this time, Gavin decided to settle down onto the cobblestones, curling up into a comfortable position. He gave Dayton a thumbs up before resting his head on the street and drifting into a deep sleep with surprising swiftness.
Perhaps Gavin really did possess the ability, and Dayton would feel power surge through him any moment. Or maybe the boy would be so excited about the very possibility that he would fool himself into thinking he had become stronger. Another option: Dayton's dreams would be shattered when he found that absolutely nothing was happening. Either way, Gavin was definitely sleeping. In the street.
Yeeeah...
