“Pest-Pest fruit?” Yoshi struggled to make sense of what was going on at first, the effects of the gaseous substance making him disoriented and nauseous. It was suffocating to catch even just a whiff of the stuff, as his throat closed like some sort of allergic reaction.
“Pesticide!” As he connected the dots, he attempted to take a step out of the toxic cloud, but he immediately collapsed again, feeling completely drained of energy and the world around him started to spin.
Within moments, he was coughing again and could barely speak.
As Toki rushed to his side, the musician held onto him, putting all of his weight on the rabbit mink – which was really not all that much. Though only catching a glimpse of the businessman’s evasion of Toki’s attack to keep him at bay, he was able to connect the dots.
“Pesticide…” he repeated, just in case Toki hadn’t heard him the first time, and could finally inhale fresh air once his friend helped him away from the dreadful vapours that filled the air around him. In a loud and raspy gasp, Yoshi’s lungs expanded as he was able to breathe in untainted air once more.
“Thank you,” the blond shuddered, regaining his strength now that he was no longer under the effect of Rickard’s insecticidal fumigation. “I don’t know what I can do against this guy, that gas is toxic to me.” He explained, feeling somewhat deflated. Grabbing at his scarf, he raised it higher to cover his mouth and nose to offer some form of filtration of the air, then looked at Mr Grant in anger.
“The people of this farmland don’t need you, they can get by just fine making an honest living without your corrupt intervention! The land is already owned and being utilised just the way it should be, so we’re not going to let you get your grubby hands on it for some factory construction to exploit genuine workers of the land! Get lost!”
