As Brie stepped off the ship she was immediately greeted by something unexpected. A warm breeze, the first she’d felt in ages sailing on the North Blue. While it was certainly refreshing it wasn’t exactly the weather her outfit was designed for. She knew it would be a fair while before her weapons were necessary, making the decision to shed her overcoat an easy one. The sound of rattling derringers emanated from the coat as she removed it and shrunk it down to a size that would fit into her pack. Rooting around for a second as she walked revealed a more casual outfit that once resized was far more appropriate for the tropical climate.
Brie stopped to admire the island for a minute as she pulled a water resistant poncho on. Looming in the distance was the impressive Mount Great White surrounded by the unforgiving forest that engulfed a large majority of the land. Brie knew she’d be trekking through it sooner or later, and she wasn’t relishing the idea of dealing with the savage wildlife. Especially the Lemura Tigers which for all purposes were just oversized cats.
The young mouse began her short trek into town as she regarded the various houses and shops, and the obvious lack of a 40 ft tall giant that she was looking for. Surely he had to be hidden somewhere on the island, and Brie had her sights on the mountain. Wanting to perform her due diligence she had decided on silencing her hunch for a short moment in favor of talking to some of the townsfolk. She didn't know much about this bounty other than his name and the fact that he would be significantly hard to miss if he was just hanging about town. Brie followed her usual path towards information. Busiest bar in town, talk to the bar keep and anyone else that looks knowledgeable about the area. Cherub Kane had to be residing nearby, and someone had most likely noticed the arrival of a giant.
The rain began seemingly out of nowhere prompting Brie to pull the hood of her poncho up over her head, sticking her ears through the cut out slits in the top. Brie accepted that she’d be fairly soggy this whole job given the regular rainstorms of the tropical island, but she wished she had gotten a little more time before the downpour. She made her way into one of the local establishments before taking a moment to dry in the doorway before entering.
“Hm…” she hummed as she thought about the coming hunt and where her target might be hiding. Silently she slipped her hand into her pocket and felt the cold metal of her small firearm, wondering if she was even prepared for hunting an actual giant. Well, time would have to be the determiner of that.
