“Oooh,” Albedo cooed at the snake puppet as it bowed to her. She did a fancy flourish and a bow, tipping her body until her poofy tail was vertical and tickling the side of Toulon’s face. She snapped up pretty immediately, nodding at Toulon’s explanation and shuddering at the mention of needles.
“Uegh… Needles… Wait, gasmask? Why gasmask?” Albedo’s revulsion was instantly replaced with confusion. Why would doctors need a gasmask? Were patients stinky? Was she stinky? Albedo sniffed under her arm. Not stinky to her… She put a tiny hand to her cheek. She didn’t really have too much time to ponder it because Toulon shortly took her advice and started moving, causing Albedo to worry more about her footing.
She clung to his collar as he moved about and finally let go once he stopped. When he did, the little girl totally transformed. She just pulled out a den den mushi and started acting like a totally different person. Albedo stared incredulously as she just radioed the Marine guys with all the guile of a spy trained all her life for this. Oh. Albedo shuddered.
“Okay, I take it back, Toulon. That’s waaaaay creepier. Look at her smirk!”
Topito’s little smirk and mock salute, however, had the distinct effect of annoying Albedo. Toulon might have had a certain level of restraint, but she sure didn’t. She bounced right off Toulon’s shoulder and rolled up her sleeves as he negotiated, running around behind the girl and her father unnoticed as Toulon negotiated with her.
Once behind them, Albedo immediately transformed into her staggeringly tall hybrid form, snatching up both the girl and her father and lifting them up by their collars off the ground. Her tail snapped back and forth with irritation much like a cat, leaving small craters wherever it landed.
“You know, I changed my mind. She doesn’t deserve candy,” Albedo said with barely restrained rage, bopping the child on the back of the head with her tail to make her spit it out, “You shouldn’t reward this behavior, Toulon. They’ll never learn.”
She turned the girl around and grinned menacingly at her.
“See, Toulon there’s a really nice guy, y’know,” Albedo explained to the little girl, “Me? I may be a heroine, but I’m not so nice.”
Albedo swung her tail at what remained of the column from earlier, obliterating what was left. In a flurry of motion, Albedo dropped the unconscious father like a sack of bricks and grabbed his coat, some rope, and whatever else was laying around. The result was a completely burritoed and otherwise completely tied up Topito in a sling that Albedo threw over her shoulder. She let out a small huff of relief, her irritation successfully vented.
“Alright, so some bad guys are gonna show up here now, right, Toulon? No worries! Leave it to me!” Albedo grinned and jabbed a claw at her chest, “I promise I’ll protect you! You’re the love- ER. I MEAN- HAHA! I’VE GOT THIS!”
Albedo’s face flushed bright purple. Yup. Nailed it.
