Time seemed to pass as if in a blur. Leo moved with a speed he didn't know he had, carefully carrying the animals in their cages onto his rented ship, followed by bringing over as many crates of animals as possible. His rented ship - noticeably dinged by the impact with the smuggler's ship - was definitely sitting lower in the water. It looked kind of like an ark of animals.
The smugglers tried to escape - some clung to driftwood rather than get caught by a buff catman. Some of the others made an escape in rowboats as their ship slowly crumbled into driftwood. The horned whale-shark and the seahorse-mermaid-fish tailed thingy disappeared beneath the waves. So did the captain of the smugglers, who was weighed down by an overly flashy coat.
Unfortunately, Leo wasn't able to find the other mink, and it was with heavy heart that he began to sail back to Jreum. Man, the marines were going to have a heck of a time sorting out this payload.
