Eric #11
“What´s wrong?”
The Wolf King wasn´t one kind enough to wait until someone else will find the courage to speak and so he startled the medic right after he finished the last seam.
“I...I...I did what I could.”
He shuttered, face paler than Agnes.
“But...she already lost too much of blood, the chance, that she will...”
“And why is that!”
Rahu snapped on the doctor angrily, slapping him across face with the back of his hand so hard, that the old guy fell backwards on the deck.
“Rahu!”
Eric´s voice boomed with enough strength to be heard even on the upper deck. He understood the young warrior well as he had hard time controlling his anger too. The only thing standing before the medic and his death was the tiny piece of hope his message carried.
“Can transfusion help?”
He had to repeat his question as the doctor watched Rahu with horror.
“I...yes, but she would need a suitable donor and...”
The white haired veteran nodded.
“Excellent, so get to work.” The doctor blinked in confusion, as his education for a moment outweighed his fear.
“I...I can´t….I mean, you are already bleeding yourself and even if she was your relative the chance...”
Eric didn´t let him finish.
“You really think this is the first time the two of us are sharing our blood? Get to work now, or I´ll test how much compatible you are!”
The elderly doctor started shaking from fear, but this time didn´t resisted Eric´s order.
“And Rahu, if he´ll try anything funny, kill him.”
Unknown to the people on Wolves´s boat, their actions were observed by two pairs of curious eyes.
“Hmmmm, strange, I thought boss was a bit more heartless than this.”
Muttered Semjon silently, as he was leaning against the taffrail.
“Got a bit worried, when he ran off like that, but this...makes me wonder if he would do the same for someone else.”
Shio, who was standing next to him grinned.
“You really don´t know much about a life huh?”
The giant of man asked, while wrapping his jacked around long cut wound he had across his left arm.
“Every man has something he wants to protect no matter what. And I for once am glad, that boss is still a human. Despite all the evidences to contrary.”
These two could afford to converse like that, because the battle was over. Despite initially having superior numbers, the guards couldn´t really match the battle hardened Wolves and their allies, not to mention that the lost of their two leaders was pretty serious blow to their morale. So now Gin and Takeda were walking around, bounding the ones who stayed conscious, while quickly confiscating their weapons and throwing them in the sea. There was no one else on the upper deck as both the crew and passengers locked themselves in the lower decks waiting for what will happen next. The only disturbance to the peaceful silence were two loud splashes of something heavy hitting the water.
The first one was Midas and the remaining guardsman, as the large fishman forced his way through the barrage of electric chains, only to grab his target and throw both of them in the water. The human still possessed by his rage didn´t deactivate his technique soon enough, so both of them were hit by the electric shock. However, as the electricity slowly disappeared, it became obvious, that Midas will have the upper hand there. With his chains still wrapped around Midas´s arms, the large warrior swam to the fishman, attacking him with a powerful punch. However, being meter or so under water, his speed seemed to be halved.
As for the other one, that was caused by a friendly fire...of sort. Sanagi, sickened by Adam behavior grabbed grabbed his arm and threw him into water.
“Wait Pink, what are you...whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"
SPLASH!
Although the monkey-man wasn´t bad fighter himself, he couldn´t simply react fast enough, when the hit came from perceived ally. And so he flew through the air, until he hit the sea bellow, splashing around and cursing.
“What the **** Pink? Just wait until I´ll get up there!”
He yelled, completely ignoring what she was telling him, until another voice interfered.
“She is right Adam, pull that guy up, and as for you...”
Matin turned to Sanagi, completely ignoring large burn he received from the chain, that was running from his left shoulder to a right hip.
“be glad Eric didn´t see that. He doesn´t tolerate infighting during battle. And although Adam can act as j**k time to time, he is still our brother, they are not. Now, take Takeda...”
He nodded to the young blonde man nearby, who was just throwing bunch of pistols from the ship.
“And go through the lower levels, we need to find the professor sooner than someone will get the bright idea to call Marines.”
Meanwhile on the lower decks, most passengers locked themselves in their cabins, while the remaining members of the crew that weren´t defeated in the battle upstairs hid themselves in their quarters. Most of them were completely silent, afraid of whatever fate these strange attackers prepared for them with the exception of one man in the cabin numbered 21, that was talking with someone via Den Den Mushi.
“No, it´s not him. Looks like he sent some mercenaries instead...no, we knew he had some strange friends but not that he had private army, or that he would send them just like that...yes, I am sure...yes, I understand. Marines? Well, it will be probably for the best...yes, that should work. Wish me a luck.”
The other voice coming from the Snail was barely recognizable whisper. Too quiet to be understood by anyone nearby. And even that loud one wasn´t probably heard by more than just his closest neighbors, if by any.
As the call ended, the doors leading to the cabin opened and man walked out of them.
He didn´t look that impressive, more of a scholar than fighter, and a quite eccentric to a boot. Short and wiry man in his late sixties, with long, bone white hair, that were bound by a golden ring and combed up in a strange spherical afro haircut and stubble-beard of the same color, wearing pair of glasses with thin silver fame. He was wearing black, sleeveless basketball shirt, that was two, maybe three sizes too big, gray shorts and sandals, together with large shoulder bag, that was stuffed to a brim with various books.
“Alright”
He grinned, pushing the glasses back to their place with his left arm, that was tattooed from shoulder to the wrist with an image of fiery demon.
“guess it´s time to play my part.”
With that, he start walking upstairs towards the main deck.
