The group of guards were brought before the Captain - before any introductions could be made, the large leader of the group began to speak, snapping at the Marine officer before him angrily. Thomas looked between the two, interested to see what the officer's reaction would be.
Once the man finished his tirade, the Marine lunged forward, grabbing the man by the face and slamming him backwards into the street, with enough force to crack the stone. "I'm the one asking questions around here, got it?!" she snapped back, pushing the man further against the ground. "No one from the Marines contacted you, at least no one sent by me. Now, you're going to sit back and shut up until you're spoken to, do you understand?"
She eyed the other guards who had come along with their leader, waiting and watching until they quietly nodded. "Good. Now then, Marines," the Captain turned her attention to the few members of her squad who had stopped to witness this scene, "I want ten of you with me, the rest of you continue to the scene of the incident. You, 'Thomas', are sticking with me until we sort all this out, got it?"
Thomas froze, and then sighed. "... Yeah, alright."
The two vines that the man attempted to simply tank with his body, even reinforced as it was with that "Iron Wall" technique of his, were still moving with enough force to deal some damage, although they could not pierce through his body. Meanwhile, the vines he sought to tear out from the ground grew off shoots, speeding toward his companions. The vines he had ripped up from the ground under his feet changed tactics, twisting and growing, becoming thicker by the instant, as they worked to bind his arms to his chest.
The spearman made a move to assault Bianca again with that flying poke of his - a critical mistake, thinking that such a simple dodge would get him out of the way her assault. The vine that had been after him pierced through the stone street for a moment before surfacing a few inches away, shooting back upward to stab the man from the back in a maneuver that should, even if dodged, cause his "Phantom Spear" to misfire.
Meanwhile, the fourth vine that had been traveling toward one of the marauders met its mark, piercing the man in the abdomen and pinning him to the ground, where he cried out in pain. The man's hands came upward to try to pull the vine away when the other two vines, still growing through the street below him, surged upward, grabbing his upper arms and binding him tightly against the ground.
Bianca allowed the faintest of smiles to shine through. This was an excellent turn of events; even if she was forced to kill the others, at least there would be one of them left alive for interrogation by the Marines. Now, could she pull a repeat performance?"Jasmine Whip."
The vines that had begun growing up the brawler's arms and torso pulled downward, seeking to drag him down into the ground to restrain his movements further.
