The location, the location, Arlen was running already as he even just began to hear where it was. In general where he'd be going was similar anyways, noticing what looked to be a hole in the ground with ladders leading down Arlen recognized its location more than anything else. The entrance at least as he had suspected it would be. The quartermaster ran, listening as he did, he slowed as he approached and then jumped.
It was a careful, calculated jump as he thinned his outline and fell through the ladder shaft. Arlen's eyes widened, he hit the ground his knees bending and buckling to contain the weight of the landing. Gyato was fighting Arii??? That was not good, not good, but he needed to save Syph. He needed to, Arlen took a step forward and paused. No she wouldn't forgive him if she let that kid fight the Daibukai alone. He knew what he needed to do. Arlen ran, but he'd have to find Gyato. Where? Where? He needed to know, he needed to find Gyato. WHERE ARE YOU His inner voice rang out and his spirit spread and called out across the building.
Gyato blinked, he looked up above him, no one. He stepped forward a little further and glanced down. Standing on the stairs a floor below him was a vaguely familiar sight. He'd seen her for a moment before. The youth's fingers tightened around his blade. "You." He said in a whisper. If anger could raise in him it would, but it was fear that caught him now. Every bone in his body yelled at him to run, flee, run for his life, this woman was beyond him. Far beyond him.
He took a single step back. "Now then, where are you going?" Came the voice of the Daibukai as she reappeared right before him. Gyato froze, he needed to- needed to. "BEND PEST!" The Daibukai's voice rang out as she looked down upon him standing upon the railing of the stairway. He didn't know what it was but he felt the pressure. It felt as if a huge weight fell upon him in that moment. His knees began to buckle beneath him, they bent as he pushed his sword down to stabilize his footing.
"I SAID BEND" Anger pulsed in the woman's voice as she spoke. The weight on Gyato felt like it had doubled. His breathing grew heavier, what exactly was this. But he couldn't, his defiant soul yelled out in response. Gyato's eyes widened as it felt like the weight upon him lessened slightly. His legs felt more stable. Energy surged in him, could he. "WOLF'S SLASH!" Gyato's grip on Little Wolf tightened and he swung it up across the Daibukai's chest.
Or would have, had she been there. But the Daibukai wasn't when he had swung so his blade swung through the air instead. "Hmm, look at that fire. It'll be good to snuff it out." The staff in her hand spun and slammed into Gyato's side. Pain radiated out of it grasping every bit of his body in a moment and the youthful swordsman cried out in pain as he was flung through the air crashing into a far wall on the other side the stairway chasm. Gyato rolled over and coughed in pain blood splattering out of his mouth. He barely held himself on all fours as he gasped for air.
Across the chasm Arii stood and took a breath, she raised her hand in the air. Lightning gathered to it. Gyato looked across but could barely get to his feet at the moment. "DIE INSECT! BLACK THUN-" The Daibukai's head tilted up.
-BANG-
Gyato didn't know what but something slammed into the Daibukai sending her staggering back.
"GYATO JUMP!"
His target was found, sort of, kind of. Arlen couldn't explain it but he knew where Gyato was, he felt it somewhere deep within him. As he ran he thought, how would he do this. He clicked on the mini den den. "Tally when you hear Gyato on the other line give him Syph's location." He said as he ran. He waited for confirmation and then reached for his side. As he ran he extracted the black sheathed blade from his waist putting it in the same hand as the den den. Gyato ran forward appearing at what seemed to be a wide stairwell.
He unshouldered his rifle. Then dropped the den den and the blade down the chasm. It'd be okay, he knew, he believed. His hands immediately came to his rifle he tilted the rifle sideways as he lined up his shot in milliseconds. His target looked up towards him. His finger pulled the trigger and then he yelled.
"GYATO JUMP!"
The words rang through his ears. Jump? Gyato barely felt his strength, but something in Arlen's voice told him to trust the quartermaster. Where had that man led him wrong before. The youth gathered his energy and scrambled towards the edge of the stairs before throwing himself off of it in what barely could be considered a jump. As he did objects sped by him. His hands reached out, an active den den mushi and Syphalia's blade. He recognized them in a moment.
He pull them close as he plummeted through the chasm. "Hello?" He said into the den den mushi still a bit confused.
The blade of air made mince of all before it. Even the iron bars of Lilin's cage split in two as it traveled through it leaving a crevasse in the floor and walls. Thankfully Lyn had dodged away from it and Max had similarly, though the top of his head definitely looked a bit thinner than it had been moments ago.
The pair exchanged glances as they looked back at Saint Lawrence. An understanding passed between them, this was not a winnable battle. It was unmistakable, to win they'd need someone stronger than either of them. Lyn hoped that this Lilin would be it, Max bet it would be the case. As him and the merwoman's attention moved to the knight before them. "I said to di-"
-Bang-
A pistol shot rang out causing Saint Lawrence to shift slightly tilting his blade to the side to deflect the pistol shot. Max was already reloading his pistol his fingers moving fast with an enviable calm. "Go now!" The deckhand yelled in a greater show of emotion than most any had seen of him. His pistol rose up and aimed another shot at the so-called Paragon Knight.
Lawrence tilted his blade's broad side moving it slightly deflecting the bullet once again with a casual ease. His head tilted to look upon the merwoman with her blade drawn rushing towards him. Her blade raised, "DEMON'S HOWL" Lyn's blade sliced down towards her opponent screeching through the air with a wailing sound screaming through the area.
"Futile."
He didn't even seem bothered by the incoming attack. With one hand he flicked his blade upwards parrying Lyn's attack and raising his blade into the air above his head. "GALATINE MINORA" The second hand wasn't even worth it. He swung his blade down towards Lyn. The merwoman moved, bringing her blade up to meet it. But it was a futile effort, like the blade was butter, the knight's blade cleaved her weapon in two opening a line of blood down Lyn's chest. The merwoman collapsed to her knees as the knight laughed, flicking his blade about to splatter blood about.
"Like I said. Futile." The man hadn't even moved, not a step.
