"Eugh..." Rémi opened her eyes but the space was still dark and empty. She felt various metal contraptions poking her back and the sound of creaking wood all around her. "Goddamnit Kano..." The girl swore she'd pay him back for distracting her at a crucial moment but for now she still had the matter of the eel to deal with. Speaking of, where did the thing go?
Rémi groaned as she peeled her body off the rubble. She looked up and noticed the hole where the snake dropped her through and saw a faint ring of light outlining the aperture. From the looks of it, the damn worm was covering the exit to prevent her escape. She chuckled with a smirk, "Okay then, you're pretty smart I'll give you that." However, with its belly now exposed and its eyes no longer watching her every movement, the Sea King had given her the perfect chance to strike. The sword girl stood up and intersected her blades like a crosshair with the beast right at the center. "Now hold still for me, this'll only hurt for a second."
Above the deck, she heard frantic screams and the thumping of bodies. Her spine tingled with anxiety. I hope those are just the Marines and not any of the kids... She bit down her bared teeth and seethed, just imagining what she would do if the beast touched a single one of those innocent civilians. Rémi crossed the blades over her shoulder and breathed in the musty air around. "Nowhere to run, now Wormy." She exhaled then jumped toward the ring of light above, slicing forward with both arms at the target.
"RAAAAAWWWGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH"
The sunlight came pouring into Rémi's little den once the serpent shot into the air with pained screech. Its tubelike body contorted into a twisted rail of flesh and squirmed all over the deck. The girl climbed out of the hole and dusted her black jacket off. She looked to the mess she caused and smiled once her eyes caught the red X signed on the fish's midsection. "Hahaha, not so tough now, huh!?" Once it heard the woman's voice, the spasming basilisk relaxed and turned its eyes back to the cyan headed braggart. Rémi's face dropped into a scowl once she saw the eel's mouth.
A body in white hung from its chin. A Marine...Well I did warn them. While the thing continued to chew its meal and stare at her, the watchful lass scanned the grounds for any casualties. The pile of Marines bodies she navigated through was gone and so were most of the civilians. A few adults still lingered hiding in the bar area off to the side. Good...looks like the kids made it out. Rémi sighed with relief then returned her attention to the bloodthirsty behemoth slithering in front of her.
It slurped up the last of the navyman's boots and swallowed the dish down its throat. The thing opened its mouth and poked out its tongue, hungry for more. Rémi sneered with nausea before showing off her blades to the craving creature. "I hope you enjoyed that, Squirms. It's the last meal you'll ever get." She posed in her fighting stance with both swords crossed in front of her. The snake's head hovered over the deck as its pitch black eyes stared into her soul.
