Seemingly the warrant officer meant the smokescreen as just a delay to set up their siege weapons around the building. A good idea, seeing as setting up heavy weaponry like that would draw a lot of fire on the people carrying the equipment. Though while his part seemed to start and end with the smokescreen. Not that he'd complain, staying out of carrying heavy objects into a danger zone suited him just fine.
Plan seemed to work rather well, the criminals realizing just how little chance they stood against weapons that would go through the wooden walls like they were nothing. Though whether or not this was a bluff considering the property damage this would cause, but guess they were unwilling to find out.
While the fishman oversaw the detainment of the bandits, Sieg decided to just stand back and leave the interrogation to those who could actually be physically intimidating. Though while standing back, another marine came behind him with a pat on the shoulder. It was a familiar face too, though just one of a passing acquaintance. At least he knew a name: Coulson. The man was a few years older than him, though from the approximate 20 centimeter height difference one would have assumed it to be around five years. And while one would have expected a grizzled look from his frame and build, the man was clean-shaved. All for his dedication to marines. "Was that one of those things you keep building during your free time? Don't think I've ever seen you use them."
"Yea, I've just, well, not had a chance to use them. I can't really use non-regulation equipment on a regular patrol when I've barely made it to seaman apprentice."
"I still think you'd get more effects by going to the gym few nights a week. Fancy weapons or not, it all comes down to what you can do by yourself."
"Ah, I... I'll think about it." Not that Sieg really would, physical workouts weren't for him. After all, if he could create something to impress the R&D, he'd probably be able to leave front lines entirely. All he wanted to do now was get back to the barracks and write down notes about the successful field test. Though overhearing some conversations and knowing the fishman had already involved the young marine for the task at hand, he had a feeling it wouldn't be so.
