Abigail listened to Senshi's story intently although it was rather short and brief. What she hadn't expected was Abigail to sympathize for her and apologize for Senshi's loss. "It's alright. I'm just happy that she's in a better place now. I loved her and she loved me. As for my father, I hope he is alright. He is in the new world right now and I hear that everyone there is crazy strong." It was then that Senshi took her initiative against the wild bear that had chosen to confront the two women before her student looked awed verbally declaring that it was amazing. The redhead blushed slightly and then turned to Abigail. "Thank you. Now, let me buy you some dinner."
The training progressed for six more days of physical warmups at the beginning and end of training every day from morning to sundown. It was a harsh process but Senshi was hoping to see results from Abigail before she would have to leave. Now it was the second week out of the four week training they would have. It was a cloudy Monday morning in Winchester and many places were thinking rain would be coming soon. Senshi at this moment had been with Abigail yet again in the woods just having finished their enhanced training. Not only had Senshi increased the training in amount for Abigail but made it harder ever further. She had given her student her own light weights of fifteen pounds to apply on her arms and legs. It would strengthen her faster and would improve her speed as well. This was the second week and she decided now was time for her novice swordsman to apply the basics she had learned with a sparring partner in order to understand combat and how to learn more complex movements with the sword that would be too hard to teach by word. "Okay Abigail-Chan. I have noticed in the previous week that you seem to be lacking the discipline that most trained swordsmen and soldiers have. I have been watching you and can tell that you have improved quite a bit physically with your efforts. Now we try something a bit different." The redheaded marine adjusted her white and blue navy cap before forming yet again two blunt lead Katana. "I'm going to be teaching you important of stance and movements in battle and how it changes the flow of combat. I want you to come at me with everything that you have and I will show you where you need to improve.
Tossing one of the two lead blades to Abigail, Senshi stood with her lead blade held in her left hand. Her stance was wide and her body was stiff. The teenager's cerulean eyes had stared not at Abigail's body but her blade. A swordsman is to be aware of all of their surroundings and use it to their advantage. After the training spar. the young woman would take Abigail to control her fear and mind. She also hoped that it would help control her devil fruit power seeing Senshi noticed that the only times that it triggered or activated was when her pupil was scared or nervous. The only other physical aspect that was visible was when Abigail was in physical exhaustion. She was a lead woman who was going to be attempting to teach a frog how to use her powers. It was going to be an interesting challenge most certainly but it was one that was going to be worth pursuing. Abigail was an eager pupil and that was a great thing, but she still had a long way to go. Deciding not to make her student take the initiative, the senior swordsman had taken the first assault forward. She would hold back just to see how much Abigail had retained from her training.
Senshi taught her the basic overhead swing, diagonal swing, vertical swing, how to block, how to parry, how to jab, and how to move back and forth when her foes were pressing her. The most important thing was how to dodge an attack if it were ever to be needed. Holding her blade to her side, Senshi had immediately a sideway swing to Abigail's left side of her torso. She made it slow enough so that Abigail could most definitely react to it. However, the farther the sparring would get, the harder the master would press the student. She needed to know the extent of her student's ability and would support her all nine yards of the way. What was Abigail's limit at the moment? Now that she had been given the fundamentals and a bit of time to practice them, it would surely give Senshi a taste on how her swordsmanship style was going to develop. This was only going to be the beginning of course as the novice in front of her had a LONG way to go. "Focus on me. Don't let your mind wander." A final bit of advice her Abigail to follow.
