Mission #90
You've been set up! Framed for stealing from a rich noble person! Avoid the Marines and most of the rich civilians on the Island you are at that are aligned with them and get to the bottom of the mystery.
Sabaody Archipelago...
One fateful night under the full moon, a great, sinister mastermind had his move. With his ominous, fluffy powers, he hitchhiked onto a ship that held some of the wealthiest people around: the nobles. Being in the upper class of society, these rich, spoiled buffoons wouldn’t mind if a few things went missing, now would they?
With his round black ears and little white tail, Maru clambered into a dark room in absolute secrecy. The large panda had no clue where he was or what he was up to, but he had confidence that he can accomplish great things in life. Where did his confidence come from? Because he was a panda! Just observe at how stealthy he was as his soft paws treaded across the floor. Note at how utterly bold and fearless he was to be stalking in the shadows without any sense of direction whatsoever. Only foolish creatures like bats needed echolocation to see in the dark. He had no need for such evolutionary powers for natural selection had deemed his species to not need it in the first place.
Out of nowhere, an invisible blunt force bumped into his nose. Raising himself up to a stand, Maru rubbed his short snout as he was taken by surprise at how the wall was clever enough to catch him in the act. As if this wall wasn’t impressive enough, it even meticulously calculated the precise positioning of the large picture frame in such a way that the panda struck his head onto the bottom edge of said frame. The entire rectangular oil painting collapsed on top of him as he fell onto his back with a thump.
Crawling beneath the rays of the moonlight that shined through the small round window, Maru gave the painting a glance with the dim lighting. What he saw completely was a completely awestruck; never before had his paws felt anything quite like this. This wasn’t just any ordinary picture. This was an ordinary picture in a golden frame made of a solid gold. The picture was just a picture, one that he paid no mind towards. But this frame…, it had potential. It had the potential for money, one that was not like his usual counterfeit beri.
No… that was just short-sightedness. This golden picture frame had the potential to do great things in this world. It may even possess the demonic power to frame the world’s unluckiest human being.
GASP! A brilliant idea hatched into his head, only to hear a rush of footsteps storming by the door that disrupted his magnificent thoughts. Foolish humans thinking that they will catch him in the act had such a black and white mentality. A royal, fluffy warrior of thieving justice shall not be taken down so easily. Only cuteness and adorableness shall prevail!
With an immediate solid stance, the bipedal panda snapped his fist forth with such speed that the air itself became submissive to his almighty will that had absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he was a full-fledged martial artist from Karate Island.
Shockwave!
The legendary shockwave attack… was nothing more than a mere fast punch done at superhuman speed. But, what made it so legendary wasn’t its speed or power. It was legendary for the mere fact that a panda performed the technique in order to bust himself out of a tight spot.
When the nobles’ bodyguards entered in with the lights flickered on, they could only gape at the hole in the now splintered rim around of what used to be a chunk of wall.
On his self-crafted little raft, the explorer known as Maru with the impressive bounty of ten beri had detached the ropes that linked to the ship. With great subtlety, he paddled with splashes of water that did nothing but announce his presence. However, when the humans stepped onto the deck to spot the thief with the golden picture frame around his neck, the panda was too far gone for the moonlight to make his appearance notable.
And thus, the great mastermind known as Maru had triggered a massive domino effect of utter chaos for Sabaody Archipelago.
