“Oi, Nellie, you OK?” The sound of a woman’s voice echoing down the winding corridors, Molly Morgan peered through the darkness for a sight of her partner, but even by the light of a glowing mushroom could not find her. Afforded the most devilish of gifts in that moment, the burden of choice, the brown haired girl tried to decide whether she should stick with the kid she had caught or go back for her friend. This ruin no doubt dangerous, while the octopus girl has proven to be more than capable of taking care of herself, something in the pit of the pirates stomach made her feel uneasy.
Something’s wrong… A sense of sudden dread filling her at the echo of her companion, the instincts of the saw bodied beauty seemed to be telling her to go help her friend, and yet she did not. Everything that had been promised in the form of a choice a wicked little lie, in the moments that the goggled girl pondered her decision, she found that any influence she might have had in this dilemma was robbed away.
Attention turned away from the small form that she had grabbed, as the youngster beneath her wriggled and writhed, the brunette did not notice precisely what it was doing. Strong enough to keep the small body beneath her, as the girl turned her attention back to the shape that she had captured she then found something soft being shoved over her mouth.
“Mffffffmmm?” The flavour of something sweet being all that she could remember, something that smelled unlike anything that this explorer had ever experienced flooded her nostrils, and the girl had scarcely any time to realize what was happening before her eyes shut under heavy lids. Sleep stealing any kind of attention or strength that the pirate could give, from beneath the form of focus did the child slip free, holding something in hand that looked in the darkness like a dishcloth. Struggle over and a young woman captured, the face of a little girl looked nervously down at her fallen attacker, and then vanished back into the darkness.
It has been observed in medicine that when a patient is under sedation, it is somewhat rare for them to dream. Knocked out by something similar to Chloroform, this rang true for the goggled girl as she lay prone in the darkness of the temple, the light from the glowing mushroom illuminating the soft and feminine features that this formerly feisty femme possessed. Face filled with a look of peace, like one that had collapsed from exhaustion, it was only a handful on minutes that Miss Morgan spent unconscious. Not accosted like her companion but rather left to snooze on the cold slab of a floor, after a short period, the girl found herself gasping back to life. Given only a small dose of whatever drug that the little girl had administered, the robust constitution of a fighting girl allowed her to quickly fight it off and return to the realm of waking, albeit with a somewhat foggy head.
“Ugggnnnnhhhhh…” Groggy from the knockout drops that had been used on her, as her brown eyes opened blearily, the dark haired lass pulled her hand up to rub them. Brain not quite as awake as the rest of her, the girl looked around her dark surrounding in a stupor, unable to fully recall how she had gotten here.
I fell down a hole or something… Rolling onto her back and rubbing her head, the brunette beauty furrowed her brow as she tried to find a clue in her memory as to what she was doing here. Much of the details since entering the temple seeming to have been temporarily forgotten, all the young woman could recall was falling down that first chasm, and everything beyond that a blur.
“Did I… Hit my head?” Memories misty at best, Molly pushed her hands back through her hair for a sign of injury, but found nothing. No bumps or breaks in the skin, nor feeling of wetness from blood. It seemed she hadn’t bumped her head at all.
Then why was I asleep? Groaning and feeling as if she was hungover, the girl with goggles across her forehead pushed herself up and into a sitting position, her legs crossed as her eyes looked like they were glazed over. Left there for more than a few seconds saying nothing, the girl paused and let her breath rise and fall slowly, her attention seemingly held by something that glowed on the floor next to her.
What is that? A mushroom…? Picking up the luminescent spore and holding it in front of her, the light it gave off was almost hypnotic to such an addled mind, drawing the interest of the drowsy damsel for a few moments. Something about this flamboyant fungus seeming important to her, as the young woman looked at it, the brightness suddenly seemed like a beacon for her.
“Nellix…” Whispering a name to herself as the small token made Miss Morgan recall the soul who had given it to her, the dazed eyes of this doxy grew clearer, reflecting a light that burned as bright as the object in front of them. Memories seeming to pour back into the mind of our piratical protagonist, she pushed off the floor again and found her feet, ignoring the wooziness that the drug had caused her.
The last thing that this young woman could recall was the sound of her new ally calling out into the darkness, a distance away. Not knowing how long she had been asleep for but noticing the sudden silence, the girl realized that her instincts had been right on the money. Surely, had her mermaid companion been alright, she would have caught her up by now? So the fact that our lady lead was alone told her only one thing; Nellie was in trouble, and that meant there was not another second that could be spared!
