The now poofy haired artist poked his head out of the kitchen to watch Marlus leave, the instructions of not going too far was sticking with him. “Yeah, land will be nice. I’ll stick to this area!” The young man quickly ruined his attention back to the oven that was drying his shoes out. “I might need to find a new pair of trainers…. Maybe some floaties would be helpful too…” He mumbled to himself, remembering his last trip into the water, not wanting to experience the sinking and possible drowning ever again.
Time seemed to slowly tick on as the tattooed pirate would open the oven and he was hit with a wave of hot air as it escaped the confines of the metallic case. His footwear was now nice and dry, even warm to the touch. ‘At least this will be a nice walk.’ The painter thought as he quickly slipped them onto his feet after closing the oven door. The warm feeling of the material surrounding his feet was nice, and kind of heart lifting to the man who within the last hour could have been on deaths door of it was not for Marlus. With that thought he quickly realised he needed to get away from this ship, to feel land and some semblance of safety. The gentle rocking that he had grown used too over the last few days was starting to get on his nerves after his recent dip.
Once the young man had gotten off of the small boat he finally took in the scale of this place, it was massive! The view that was being imprinted on his brain was spectacular, the rolling hills and massive lands. A feeling of inspiration washed over the young man, a need to paint filled his heart, and this was a picture he would never forget. “I need to thank Marl again…” He uttered as he looked around, the few man made buildings that were there looked quaint and homely, the bridge that was a stones throw away lead to more fields of green and rolling hills and the trees behind them added an air of darkness and mystery.
‘There has to be a better picture here….I don’t even have any painting supplies!’ Kenny thought, realising what few supplies he had were left on Sedna with in the pubs basement. A small sigh left the painters smiling mouth, if he was not looking for Marlus then he would go and look for some art supplies, but alas, he had to find his saviour and now not here friend. “Hey Marl! Where did ya go?” Kenny called out as he headed towards the town, thinking it would be the most logical place for him to be.
In the short time it took the man to get to the small town he noticed something, the one building that was making the most noise wasn’t a building at all… it was a ship! A moving tavern, that would have to be something Kenny would checkout later… no now. There was a possibility that maybe Marlus had headed in there too. Altering his course mid step the tattooed young man could not help but feel small as he approached it, it was larger than he thought and the sight of a large portly man laughing as he went helped to achieve this effect on the young man. ‘Is he wearing angel wings?’ was the last thought to run through his head as he stepped into the doorway to see a scene, a sea of people inside a ship with a massive man wading through them and a young woman who was also wearing white wings on her back. Though she was short he could hear her tale from outside the ship, she was loud and it reminded him of himself when he was a little bit younger.
“I’ve only got the treasure I snagged back on Sedna…” Kenny muttered as he looked at the menu and felt his pockets that were stuffed full of gold coins. The idea of trying to trade treasure for food weighed heavily on the young man’s mind until his stomach grumbled and he gave into the urge to take a seat in an unoccupied booth and read a menu. His attention was brought away from finding Marlus, he did not even look around the ship like he had planned too on the way. As he looked over the menu, more and more his stomach would growl, eventually getting loud enough to make the tables around him stop talking and look around to him.
Feeling those judging eyes on him Kenny just wanted to shrink and he did. The young man shrunk down and disappeared in his seat leaving a small clothed weasel where he once was. A small and annoyed weasel at that. “DAMN IT I JUST WANTED SOMETHING TO EAT!” He shouted out in annoyance, making the people laugh and drawing more of a crowd to the magician who could turn into a small furry creature.
