With the new guy seemingly staring into space, Mara playing around with the new woman, and Miss Ayano taking the time to respond fully... Ahn could only smile. It had been a rather worrisome time so far... but for once things were technically going to plan. Even the discovery of a Marine mole couldn't keep the tall, tree-like man down. Taking a few moments to at last turn to face Miss Ayano, and finally giving her full attention... Ahn could only wonder what kind of upbringing this woman had. While Ahn had learned to fight originally to defend his ancestral home, the stance this woman carried... it was practically noble. There had been rumors of some ex-nobles in the Revolutionary Forces... but the idea that they were actually warriors was slightly impressive.
"I suspect they will do... my wife rarely finds my judgment in the field lacking when I trust my gut... and my gut says these brutes will fight hard enough for the promise of plunder."
Allowing the answer to hang in the air, the man turned his gaze once more toward the bunch. Frank seemed to be regaining some peace, but they had a few more moments of time... which allowed Ahn to once more look back to Ayano. Unlike the woman with her attire, Ahn had kept his cloak to conceal the very obvious fashion beneath... but seeing her still showing flair underneath brought enough of a sense of humor to Ahn to make the man smile.
"So... perhaps it's time to be truthful with them and you. I am Miyahara Ahn, the Co-Leader of the Sea-Flower Cell and the sole survivor of the Miyahara Sword Shrine. I look forward to seeing you in action... I only ask that if we find anyone from the World Government... that you... leave them to me."
The end of the man's mini-speech had a darker tone, the same sort of bad-nature being translated into a darker, shineless lens falling over his eye. It didn't change the eye color... but it seemed like the man's switch had been flipped... but as fast as it came, Ahn buried it away by forcing a smile and drawing the earlier calm and pleasantness to mind. With a hand moving to one shoulder and firmly gripping the cloak, the giant of a man pulled up and out... with one grand swinging arc. The cloak came away, the darkness and brown covering vanishing as the secretive clothing went fluttering into the air, tossed away and into the street. Immediately, the sound alone drove all the pirates to look... and plenty were stunned. After all, the top half of Ahn's clothing appeared modern and "normal" for the Blue Sea... but his lower half had far more than pants. The lower half of his old samurai gi, with its floral patterns, clashed hard with the rest of the outfit... but it gave Ahn just enough of a unique look to satisfy the old-fashioned samurai.
Frank was the first to rush to the front, the distraction of the pirates allowing the Revolutionaries that had come along with Ayano to disperse and hide among their ranks. The Tearful Swordsman met the shocked man's gaze with a smile.
"It's good to come face-to-face, Mr. Frank... my name is Ahn, if you recall."
Even with the stunned man's look, all Ahn could do was pat the pirate's shoulder before pulling the man to walk alongside him. The once rowdy pirate had been shocked at many things... but in that instant, the man began to chat with Ahn over meaningless things. Few people had the ability to make a scene like a tall, tree-loving swordsman... but fewer had the skill to focus that into a near perfect misdirection.
"Which way is your brother? That way, correct?" "O-Oh, it's that way! You'll love Ted! You guys'll get along great you weird-dressed swordsman!" "I can be a fun guy as long as it doesn't involve the World Government. You know they're one of the few groups to try and restrict trade on lumber? The Adamwood is one of the strongest trees in the world..."
The two's chatter grew worse... but the others would simply need to follow or they'd be left behind. The Marines might know they were there... but even if that was the case, Ahn seemed to rushing ever forward in the attempt to attract the pirates to their side of this conflict.
It'd be but a short walk later and the group would be approaching a building that was drastically different from the poor and beaten hovels of this side of the island. Specifically.. they had come nearly full-circle toward the docks. And before them was what had once been a mighty ship... but was beached and built into the dock to form a ship-shaped building that wasn't very shipshape. Though it likely had a cozy interior... the group wouldn't be going inside. The man they had come to meet was sitting before the building... dressed up entirely in his full attire.
A man considered for a bounty of ten million beri, Ten-Barrel Ted, was watching the duo and the group behind them with a rather bored look to his face. It was only as they reached a speaking distance that the bored-looking pirate raised a single hand to bring them to a stop. Frank seemed to fearfully stop, which made Ahn look like he stumbled, the tall man looking slightly down at the shorter pirate before looking to Ted and moving just a pace forward.
"So... Ten-Barrel Ted. I'm glad we get to meet, why don't we-" "Save it. I saw you talk to a woman in heels before... where is she?"
The instant that statement left his mouth, Ahn hesitated. This man wasn't deemed a threat yet by either the Marines or Revolutionary Forces... but he had been watching the exchange? Ten-Barrel Ted smiled at the man's hesitation, but closed his eyes with a small sigh.
"I will only speak to her. I've made up my mind... and I know exactly why you've come here, Miyahara... Ahn, wasn't it? My brother's loud mouth paid off on the walk over here... because it ensures that I know who I don't want to talk to."
