The rest of the walk was pretty much quiet, the two shadowy figures slid through the town. Their silhouettes illuminated by the moonlight they made good time given the condition they were in. Until finally the pair stepped out of the road they had gone down and out into the open aired semi-circle that formed the road beside the civilian docks. "Well we are here." Syphalia said firmly as she looked out into the forest of masts. As it was night obviously there were a lot more ships docked out here than usual. "Yeah." Both statements were straight and to the point. Neither had much to say to the other at the moment. Mostly because of Syphalia, all because of her. She sighed and hung her head a little.
Now then, they needed to find ... whats her name. Syphalia almost laughed at the circumstances, she had a clear picture of that marine girl in her head but her name completely evaded Syph. Her eyes peeled for any movement she headed into the dock area with Garuda right behind her. There were many things she were looking out for, the marine girl, Pierce, and of course other marines. The first she was expecting to find here, of course since she had volunteered them a ship. The possibility it was a trap was still apparent in her mind but they really did not have much of a choice at this point. While she could commandeer a ship, that was her back-up plan only. It would be less troublesome if she took a ship that was simply lent to her.
The second, well that was more a prayer than anything else. No, Syphalia was not religious but she really did hope that Pierce would show up here. At the moment her abandoning of Pierce, especially after all they had done for him was creating a rift between Garuda and herself. Given that they were about to spend at least a decent amount of time on a ship with each other that was not something she looked forward to. So yes, she hoped he would be here, doubted that he was here. But all the same hoped he would be here. The third, well the third she did not want to see at all. But all the same assumed would appear sooner or later. She had let those marines earlier go, a fatal mistake as they would have surely surmised where she might be going. That in the end was her greatest concern, how long did they have left. There was still a base commander out there she was fairly sure of that. The marine she had fought, well he was not the caliber she would expect of the highest rank for a marine base. That thought preyed on her mind more than any other.
"Do you see her?" Syphalia asked in a soft voice as the pair of them walked down one of the docks. Syphalia had her eyes peeled but two pairs of eyes would obviously be better than one. "No. Do you really think I'll spot her before you?" Came Garuda's somewhat snarky response. Syphalia stopped walking, turning around her eye was twitching with annoyance. Her breathing was heavy but she knew better than to have an outburst here. Instead she simply strode past Garuda again heading back toward the town. Stopping for a second she said "Are two eyes better than four?" Her voice was dry, sarcasm however dripped from her voice. The loud stomping of Garuda followed her back around, though it was only loud for a second and the stepping quieted down. Glancing back Syphalia chuckled a little. The stomping had not stopped for the reason she wished it would've stopped. Instead it stopped for a more hilarious reason, he had apparently hurt his leg again and was now walking with a slight limp. Served him right or his attitude, she stuck out her tongue, though not in a place that Garuda would be able to tell.
Then the sound of voices picked her attention. Immediately her hand swung around, a single finger pointed in the air to stop and silence Garuda. It did, she was happy he had not stopped following her for all the strained relations. Walking closer to the water's edge on the dock she hid both her and Garuda in the shadow of a smallish ship. Far ahead of them at the entrance of the main road into the dock area she could see figures moving around. There were quite a few and the movements seemed rather orderly. D*mn the marines were here. She would've cursed but she did not want to make a sound. Looking back she pointed up at the ship they were beside. Looking directly at Garuda and then at the ship. No time now, they would just have to board this ship for the time being and bide their time. If need be they could leave, but if they could hide out here that should be good enough Syphalia thought. So quietly the pair ambled aboard the ship and hid behind the walls of the hull.
