Today had to be Melosa's lucky day. Not only had she now found a worthy enemy making her able to test her strength, not only had she found two crewmembers within in mere hours while she had expected a wait of at least a week in Waq Waq, no, she had found another Devil Fruit user, like herself. That was pretty rare in the Blues, if not insanely improbable.
Shin Asada. Somehow, Jicote's crew already knew about this guy, though Melosa had never heard of him. She couldn't quiet figure out what that technique he had used had been, as she only now, after he had taken one of them down, could get a closer look of him. He didn't use a weapon, that was for sure, so he had to be some kind of martial artist if his punch hurt like a bullet, as the grunt on the ground had claimed.
The pirates made some comments about her new man, which Melosa promptly ignored.
"Sure. We need good men to get going, you seem to handle yourself well." She had meant to sound confident and happy, but the fight against Jicote had made her so exhausted, that her voice refused and she could only barely make her words audible.
Not counting the man on the ground, it was two against three now in the narrow alleyway. One of them used a cutlass, the other two had knifes in each hand. They positioned themselves back to back, the one with the sword facing Melosa, the other two facing Shin.
"Where's our captain?", the swordman bellowed at her "Did you outrun him too?"
Melosa just looked at him with pity. Then she called over to her new crewmember again. "Let's finish this first, then we'll talk!"
Quickly, she swung her right sword at the grunt's face, which he parried, but didn't have the time to react to the girl jumping at him, her left sword pointed at his stomach. The blade went right through him and the man fell down. The moment he hit the ground, they could hear another gun shot from where Chase was fighting. Hopefully he was okay.
