Clenching his left hand, Genshi threw a straight punch at the wooden door, pining his faith on his own strength. The impact made a loud knock sound, but the door stood in tact. The cook took a step back, and this time put more of a swing into it, however the results remained the same. Genshi's right hand wasn't hurt too bad, but he felt safer not using it for now. Coating the right hand in a fingerless clay glove, he felt the door with his left. It was pretty solid, good at keeping someone in, or out, how he'd escape was beyond him. Despairingly sitting down, Genshi began to think of his crew, and how they must've been doing, hopefully they had already accomplished their tasks and just waiting on him. He grabbed his hand and began to tussle his hair.
"I had one job, One. All I had to do was break in and use my fruit powers to steal from a safe." he repeated to himself in his head.
Just then, he remembered something Kaiser had told him. About using his malleable clay to reach into cracks, and then something about hardening. Genshi knelt down and felt for some space between the ground and the door, if the captain's plan would work on a metal door, it should work on wood, nature's metal. It appeared that the floor was built directly on the hard floor, possibly to make opening the door as difficult as possible. Feeling the sides now, Genshi searched for the are where the door ended and the stone walls began, thinking of how to put his aforementioned plan into action. Following a moment of search, his fingers began to tell him something. He could feel where his finger tips no longer felt smooth wood, and began feeling cold, unforgiving rock. With a deep breath, Genshi placed his fingertips on the small crack on the wood-stone border and began dispensing clay. Using his other hand to do the same on the other side of the door, the cook could feel himself becoming more attached to the door. He smiled, this must've been a good sign. At this point, his fingers were stuck to the cracks; and soft, malleable clay had filled them. The hard part would come as Genshi exhaled; using strange power to now solidify the clay, rendering it harder, and harder, and hearing small cracks take form on the only exit to this dark prison. Solid stone-like clay now stuck him to the door, giving him no other option but to now pull with all his might, hoping not to pull the wooden door open, but to instead rip it off it's hinges. Genshi planted his feet firmly to the ground and began to pull on the door from it's jamb, using the clay to it's full advantage. Pulling and pulling, harder and harder, more cracking noises were heard, as one final mighty tug ripped a large part of the door right out of it's frame. This sudden action forced Genshi backwards, falling to his back and sending the wooden chunk to hit his lifeless cell-mate. The door now lacked an upper-right hand side, leaving a hole for Genshi to slip through, keeping his eyes closed, as he know found the light of the corridor to be too bright now. However, he couldn't rest now, as countless guards would surely flock, ready to capture the interloper, and capitalize on his sudden fatigue.
