The Hoshi pirates were in a perilous situation but what was the worst part of it all was that most of them didn't even know what was going on. A good majority of the Hoshi pirates were unconscious and the two that weren't had been too weak to escape the Marines that had suddenly swooped down upon them. At least, not yet. There was still hope for them, wasn't there?"Don't jostle Scruffy," said the old janitor as Marines, backed up by their partners that held the swordsmen at gunpoint, cuffed him and then pushed him roughly forward to get him to move. The old man looked so frail and harmless that the Marines hadn't even put the cuffs on very tightly and the shove that they had given him was fairly light. "Scruffy doesn't like to be jostled. He can walk on his own."
The Marines talked to themselves excitedly, thrilled that they had managed to nab the Hoshi Pirates which were worth around 80,000,000 beri from their last bounty posters rises plus the bounty of Estelle made that total close to 124,000,000. Their superiors would be happy with their performance indeed.
Kane slumped forward as a Marine grabbed him up with both arms, lifting the Hoshi Captain as though he were nothing. The rest of the unconscious were handled the same way as though they were rag dolls and they were hauled to the waiting Marine ship just offshore.
Now, it does not take long for word to spread about something as important and life changing for the citizens of Treegap as that day was. During the entire battle a smaller man had stumbled across the scene, ducked low to observe and had been shocked from what he had seen. The pirates that had just landed had actually been after the Lumberjacks and had defeated them? What their motivation was didn't seem to matter. As the news of this spread like wildfire from mouth to mouth, tree to tree on the Island of Treegap the citizens seemed to be in unanimous agreement that the Hoshi pirates had been their saviors.
The Marines, already hated by the people of Treegap for their inaction with the Lumberjacks found themselves facing the scorn of all those people yet again but in full force when they learned that their saviors had been arrested. Eventually Marine forces in that area had to sail away from the Island a little ways and call on a Den Den Mushi for assistance to come help them get control back of the Island. They feared that if they left that anarchy would crop up and they would never get the Island back from the people again.
That meant that the Hoshi pirates were positioned in the brig of the ship while the vessel waited for those reinforcements. The medic only attended to their immediate life threatening injuries but other than that he barely patched them up. Those that were unconscious probably did not wake up during this because it was a short session. Those that were awake he did while Marines guarded to make sure he wasn't attacked.
Kane's pulse was luckily still very strong and he continued to breathe despite his unconscious state. He was replaced in his small jail cell once the Doctor was done and allowed to sleep on a very hard, rock-like pillow. He woke up hours and hours later disoriented and unsure exactly where he was, what he was doing there and how he had gotten there. He started to stand up, felt dizzy and sat back down on his very uncomfortable bed that consisted of a mattress with springs literally popping out in places. He looked around to get a bit of a feel for where he was only to see bars everywhere he looked. He blinked a few times and continued to stare, looking still very disoriented.
"Oh, bad dream," he mumbled with a smile and a wave of his hand that showed dismissal before he passed back out on the bed.
