Emi hadn't been on the ship for very long drifting on the sea after pushing off from Woonan. She had lost someone that could have been on her crew to a couple of bounty hunters but she wasn't going to give up. She was going to get a crew and sail to the Grandline! If she gave up now just because she had lost one chance then she would loose sight of her dream and that would make her mad. She was going to keep going until the very end and find the One Piece!
It probably seemed really pointless coming from her though as her current condition would say. She had been drifting for at least a day after being injured back on Woonan and she still was out of food. She had done a crappy job of bandaging her wounds and hadn't changed them either. She was tired and couldn't really stand moving because it hurt to do so. She had collapsed probably about mid day the day before and hadn't really moved since then.
She didn't react nearly the same way she had a couple days previous when she felt her ship hit into a dock. She just laid on her ship and tried to gather up some strength. If she wasn't careful when getting out of her boat then she'd fall into the sea and sink to the bottom. It would all be over in just one simple jump and she didn't want that to happen. That would be the end of her journey and her mother would never know what had happened to her.
The green haired girl rolled to her side while flinching but didn't grab a hold of her stomach that had been ran through with a sword back at the previous island. It wouldn't do her much good if she did as it would just hurt even worse. She pushed herself up slowly and got to her feet. She wobbled a bit as she started to walk to the edge of her ship catching herself on the small mast as she almost fell and continued on to tie her ship to the dock. Alright it was time to go find some people to recruit to her crew!
She didn't have nearly as much energy as she usually had and if anyone she knew saw her they'd know something was off. The chances of her actually running into them was zero to none though and that was probably a good thing. She would never want them going back to her mother and reporting that she had gotten hurt already. She was sure that she had done something wrong when tending to her wounds but having no knowledge of such things she didn't know what it might have been. She thought that bandages were supposed to make your wounds feel better but they had only made her feel worse.
It took far more energy to actually push herself up onto the docks of the island she had landed on than she had expected. She was breathing heavy from the little energy she had left being spent on pulling herself up on the pier and her vision was getting blurry again. She just had to stand back up again so that she could find herself a crew and maybe also see a doctor. She would probably would have been better off going to find a doctor right off the bat because of her current condition but that wasn't really all in her mind. She sat there at beside the edge of the dock where she had lifted herself up from her ship and tried catching her breath as well as to recover some energy.
Emi probably sat there for a good 2 or 3 minutes before she went about standing up again and wobbled at she did. She steered herself away from the edge of the dock so she wouldn't fall into the sea and started forward to go into the village. She didn't make it very far, however, before she just collapsed from her energy being spent already and just laid there in about the middle of the dock. The people that were on the dock that lived in the the village seemed to avoid her like the plague not wanting to help someone that looked like bad news from her wounds or could have some illness that they could catch. She was just left there to die or to regain consciousness and continued on some more before probably collapsing again. Even as she rested unconscious and helpless still continued to breath heavy and upon further examination it would be made clear that she had a fever on top of her wounds.
