Entertainment and Recruitment?! Blue Berets Lucky Break!

"Geez Jake, you weren't kidding with this island being nothing full of entertainment." the black hair girl muttered to the boy as her red eyes glanced around. There were dancers, flame throwers, booths of merchants, small skits going on everywhere, anything, you name it. It was loud and annoying in her view, but Yumeko was following Jake, and Jake had wanted to come here.

Cracking her neck slightly and resting her forearms on the hilt of her swords, Yumeko walked lazily through the crowd. Briefly, she shut her eyes. She could hear the passer-by's conversations, she could hear the people at the booths trying to purchased people to but their stuff or to play a game, she could hear the distant music, she could even smell the food from the certain booths that were selling meat and other delectable.

When she opened her eyes, she scoured the place. She wondered for a moment if that man had been here, but with as lively as this place was, she highly doubt that a could killer would come here. Her eyes caught a poster hanging from a near by wall, and her curiosity spiked. "Hey Jake, look at this." She said, going over to the wall and lightly tearing the poster off. Her eyes quickly scanned it, "Looks like they're having some friendly competitions here... Cooking... Shooting..." She muttered, "Too bad we hadn't come sooner, I might have signed up for the martial arts tournament..." Her finger placed on the marking for it, before she continued, "And look, later they're suppose to have some type of musical performance." She said to her new captain.

She glanced over to him. She knew that herself and Jake weren't enough for entering the Grand Line. Yumeko was sure that Jake knew this as well, so she didn't bring up the matter, she would let Jake pick and choose his own crew. Rather Yumeko agreed with his choice or not, was no matter to her. She had agreed to be a part of the Blue Berets and serve as a swordswoman to Jake, her Captain. Still... It wouldn't hurt to keep an eye out for potential dangers...

"So what do you think Jake? Up for some exploring?" She said with a smirk, lightly waving the paper.

"Geez Jake, you weren't kidding with this island being nothing full of entertainment."

“I guess I wasn’t, but I never imagined it to be like this either.” People with crazy talent crowded the pier, the streets, and the beach. All of these things amused Jake and made him feel great for pick the island. He wants at least one crew member to come from this island because most likely than not the entertainer in that category will be one of the best that North Blue has to offer.

Along with Yumeko, Jake bumped through the crowd of people. Noise came from every single direction as they went through the middle of the crowd. Jake survives the clutter of people and follows Yumeko to a wall as she cried out for him.

Jake sees a poster that holds all sorts of competition spread throughout the island. “Yes, there are some nice competitions listed on the paper.” One above all the rest caught his eye, it is the cooking the contest. A cook is an important member of any pirate crew; the cook will make delicious meals, which will prevent starvation to fall upon the crew. Not just will starvation be stopped, but with an excellent cook the crew can get the necessary nutrition they would need to help keep their energy levels up.

"So what do you think Jake? Up for some exploring?"

“Of course,” replied Jake with enthusiasm. “Let’s go and find out some information on this cooking contest.” Jake walked toward a local market in search for information.

A slim, blond woman with blue eyes told Jake what he needs to know so he could reach the cooking contest. Jake thanks her for her help and then exits the store so he could head toward the cooking contest.

He navigates the crowded streets once again and finally reaches the location of the cooking contest. Wooden bleachers are setup in front of the cooking stage. Jake pays his for two tickets so he and Yumeko could take a seat on the wooden bleachers to observe the cooking contest. “Here is your ticket Yumeko,” said Jake as he handed the yellow ticket with white strips over to Yumeko. Jake walks up to the wooden bleachers and sits down alongside of Yumeko as he along with her wait patiently for the start of the cooking contest.

“Of course,” replied Jake with enthusiasm. “Let’s go and find out some information on this cooking contest.”

There was a slight smirk on her face as Jake went into a store to ask a local how to get to the place. Yumeko crossed her arms, waiting patiently for the boy to return. When he returned, he ushered Yumeko to follow him. With light steps, she followed quickly behind him. The last thing they needed was for either of them to get split up and that would be a troublesome adventure...

When Yumeko snapped back, she saw they had gotten to a place that had
wooden benches in front of a stage. She figured that with the tables set up on the stage, this was were the cooking was going to be at.

“Here is your ticket Yumeko,” Jake said, handing her a ticket.

"Oh, thanks." She said, taking the ticket from the boy and then made their way to their seats. They were front row, what luck. As Yumeko sat down, she crossed one leg over the other, her elbow resting on her knee, and her chin in her hand. She looked lazy and bored. In truth, Yumeko wasn't. She wanted to know who would be competing and who could make the best meal. After all, protein was essential to survival, along with carbs and a right amount of sugars.

"So Jake..." Yumeko said, watching as the main announcer was starting to take his position as more people started to crowd the stands, "Not that it's my judgment to make, but do you think we might find someone on this island that wants to join up with us?" She asked, slight curiosity in her voice.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!" The announcer spoke loudly into his microphone, "Welcome one and all to the tenth annual Amino Island cook off championship! We've got a lot of great competitors today folks! Some are locals to this islands, some are from the vast others seas! Tonight, each chef will prepare a special dish and will be served to out three judges! Our Town Mayor! Mrs. Flo from Flo's Flowers! And Mayes from our Amazing Singers store!" He had spoken, while the crowd clapped and cheered for the judges.

Yumeko watched as six people walked on the stage. Each looked confident enough, but their skills would speak louder than their looks. That's how it is in any competition.

"Competitors will have one hour to make their special dish before it's place in front of the judges table!" The announcer made clear, "And... Let the competition begin!"

"An hour huh?" Yumeko said, glancing over Jake, "Wanna place bets on who will win?" She lightly joked as the cooking got under way.

"Not that it's my judgment to make, but do you think we might find someone on this island that wants to join up with us?"

“It will be hard, but if luck is on our side then it will happen.” Their might be a lot of people on the island who travel the sea, but it does not guarantee that someone will join the Blue Beret’s. Almost every single person that lives fears the trouble that will fall upon them by sailing the seas as a pirate. As a pirate a person becomes an outlaw and is chase by marines and bounty hunters. Just for this few reasons a person might reject the invite of a pirate. Jake understands this and even though he is optimistic about finding a new crew member here, he knows that his chances of failing are greater. However, he will not let the odds push him down, if he fails once then he will try again and again until he finally leaves Amino with at least one new nakama.

As he finished speaking a man appeared on stage and welcomed everyone to the contest. Following the judges introductions, six people appeared on stage and are announced as the contestants. Ashley Barnaro, Kenal Gutaro, Hatsan Osame, Usaki Lacargo, Lorina Otomato, and Loki Basara are the six contestants.

Ashley looks like an evil school girl. She contains at least seven visible piercings and has a black collar around her neck. She also has a sleeveless black top with some black wings attached to it. A red and black skirt with white and black crosses covers her legs. Her skin is light tan and she has huge dark eyes with light orange hair.

The man known as Kenal wears a light brown hat over his light gray hair. Three scares mark his left cheek. He has extremely light brown eyes. A brown collar shirt protects his skin from the cold. His pants resemble the shirt in color and design.

A red long sleeve shirt is worn by Hatsan. The red pants cover Hatsan’s shoes as it reaches the floor by the front part of the shoes. He has brown eyes with light orange hair and pale skin. An ox necklace made of silver can be seen hanging from his neck.

Usaki is a muscular man who wears a dress shirt with the buttons unhooked. A red tie with small yellow lines is thrown over his neck. He also wears black dress pants that are hold in place by a brown belt with a yellow buckle. He has tannish skin with brown hair and wears sun glasses.

For a cooking contest Lorina’s outfit is ridicules. She is wearing a blue bikini with nothing else. Lroina is Caucasian and has purple hair with light blue eyes.

The last contestant named Loki has black messy hair with grey eyes. A black coat with white fur at the tips covers the black T-shirt. The light blue belt prevents the dark jeans from falling. He also has black dress shoes.

"Wanna place bets on who will win?"

“I don’t gamble, but whoever wins is the person that we going to ask to join.” The cooking contest has gotten underway and all the chefs immediately started to flip their pans at the sound of the horn.

The contestants sat backstage, sitting in chairs waiting for the announcer to start. They all sat quietly ignoring the others, plotting their dishes discretly. They were given the information by the judges when they entered. They would have a hour to prepare a dish that would satisfy the mouth of the judges so much they would have to win.

He sat there in his chair smiling violently. Not a smile that would make you feel warm, but cold. His messy black hair shaded his closed red eyes. His black coat linned with white fur at the top was open, as usual and his black T was wrinkled thanks to his sitting positon. His legs covered in bluejeans and held at the waist by a blue belt and black dress shoes.

Loki Basara. That was his name. One of the six contestants. He had landed on this island a few days ago and came upon this competiton and he intended to win. The reason he came to Amino was because of his search for allies. Winning could probably get hhim recognized. He smiled as he thought of what dish to make. He could be casual or he could go big. He thought hard untill his train of thoughts were ruined by the announcer.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!" The announcer shouted in his microphone causing Loki's smile to cease. "Welcome one and all to the tenth annual Amino Island cook off championship! We've got a lot of great competitors today folks! Some are locals to this islands, some are from the vast others seas! Tonight, each chef will prepare a special dish and will be served to out three judges! Our Town Mayor! Mrs. Flo from Flo's Flowers! And Mayes from our Amazing Singers store!" That was their sign for the competiors to walk on stage. Everyone got up and lared at eachother before they walked through the curtain's to meet their audience. Loki was smiling again as he put his hands in his pockets. Then the announcer spoke again. "Competitors will have one hour to make their special dish before it's place in front of the judges table! And... Let the competition begin!"

Loki turned to meet his stove with and a small fridge that contained valuables. The competition had started. He rushed to the stove and studied it. It was a pretty average stove that was donned black. He then looked at tgee pot that was sitting on the stove. What should he do first? Onions. He thought. Good dishes usally have onions. He rushed to the fridge and grabbed onions and placed them on the counter. He grabbed a knife lying on the counter and started to chop and drop onions in the pan. Then he opened the fidge again and looked in. There, right in the middle was a chicken breast. He smiled. Chicken would be his dish. He grabbed the chicken and a plate that was sitting also on the counter and placed it there. Then he looked under the counter to find seasoning. He grabbed all the things and placed them beside the chicken. He grabbed the handle of the pot and tossed the onions so they would not burn. Setting it back on the stove, he went back to marinating the chicken. This would be a intense competition.

Yumeko looked carefully at the contestents before leaning over to Jake, "I don't know Jake, that Ashley girl looks... kinda demonic." She whispered to her captain, a hint of playful teasing in her voice before she looked on. Yumeko leaned back in her chair, her arms and legs crossed.

She watched Ashely make an beef stew. From the looks of it, it looked plain, a brown broth with the required vegetables... Was she adding chestnuts? Her nose slightly wrinkled. That seemed odd... Yumeko's eyes looked to Kenal. Her body tensed when she saw the three scars, but seeing the light brown eyes made her relax in slight defeat. He seemed to be making a traditional ham glazed in root beer. Hatsan was busy filleting a salmon, while adding some spinach to it, a Fish Florentine maybe?

Usaki was busy making what looked like an oriental style food, shrimp was being fried with noddles, while he was chopping peppers, eggs, and blending the spices together before tossing it in the pan. Lorina... Well Lorina could have been wearing more clothing. Yumeko knew she was fit herself, and sometimes her out fit was a bit revealing with a tanktop and shorts, but a bikini to a cooking contest? Well, she was keeping to her trend and frying some type of native fish.

However, her eyes caught on to Loki. He seemed pretty determined and headset. He had a confident look to him, but it wasn't smugness at least. She watched as he chopped onions and then decided to use chicken as his main dish.

As the competition was getting under way, the aroma of each competitors dish was making Yumeko's, and she was sure that other's, mouth watering. She didn't care who won, she just wanted some samples... or a full course meal. However, she knew that if something smelled good, didn't mean that it was the finest dish in the kitchen. She sat back, watching the clock slowly start to click down.

She looked over to Jake, "Alright, I think Loki, the guy with the chicken." She said, expressing her opinion, "The others look rather cocky than confident." She said to her captain. She saw how the judges and announcer was looking on with anticipation and patiently waiting before they could all get a taste of the food. Besides, who wouldn't want free food?

"I don't know Jake, that Ashley girl looks... kinda demonic."

After listening to Yumeko’s statement, Jake whispers, “it’s true what you say, but remember appearances aren’t to be judged.” Out of everyone in the world he knows this to be true, since people in the past have thought him to be awfully weak due to his appearance.

The odor from the food reached up to the stands attracting Jake’s attention back on the competition. His mouth watered as thoughts of devouring the food kept running through his brain. Images of ribs dipped in barbecue sauce, lobster served with a red sauce that makes it tender and juicy, and fried rice mixed with all sorts of vegetables and shrimp are a few of the food images in his head. Jake hopes that the food from the competition will also be distribute among the audience.

For now he makes sure to quiet his stomach as his full concentration must be put on the competition. Out of the six contestants he must pick out the best one based on the following qualities. The cook must be good at heart and must be able to stir up the tastiest food ever. Only the winner of the contest will Jake look at because whoever wins will be declared as the best cook on the island. However, just because the winner has such an honor does not mean that Jake will try and recruit him since his/her food might be good enough to win the contest, but it doesn’t mean that it’s good enough to please Jake. Also, if the food is delicious enough to please Jake he might still not allow the winner to join if he/she is not good at heart. As the competition progresses Jake pays close attention to the competitors to try and determine what type of person each of them are.

“Alright, I think Loki, the guy with the chicken.”

Since Yumeko feels that Loki would be the correct choice Jake starts to focus some more attention on him. Still he will observe the other five contestants since he will not count any of them out until a decision is final.

“The others look rather cocky than confident.”

He keeps these words in his head and looks upon the field with wider eyes as he looks for ways to eliminate the field of six cooks to one.

Loki, deep in his work started sweating. He wiped his head with his sleeve and continued. After about a minute of marinating and twisting the onions but was done. He had put spices, a pinch of salt and some parsley. He then slowly put the chicken with the onions and let it settle. He then got a spatula and started checking every once in a while to see if the other side would be done. By his calculations, it would take at least fifteen minutes for each side to sizzle down. He had taken up at least ten minutes so he had about forty minutes left. The fifteen minutes for each side would take thirty minutes in total. Then only ten minutes would be left. So instead of just standing there, he went to get a plate and went back to the fridge to see if he could...'decorate' his meal.

He searched in the fridge and found some potatoes he found a knife and a bowl to put he skin so he brought out about three potatoes and started peeling them. Mash potatoes would be good but they would need something. Gravy. Mash potatoes, smothered in gravy beside the main dish of chicken. Loki's mouth watered from the thought, he knew he would win!

He got the ingredients for the gravy and mixed them in another pot he found. As he mixed it he imagined, yet again, the meal. He pictured every detail and smirked, he was satisfied. By the time his thought of train stopped, the gravy was done. Then he went back to peeling potatoes and smashing them. This took the thirty minutes. Loki ran back to the chicken and took it placed it on a plate, it was done. Then he went and boiled the mash potatoes for a few minutes and placed them on the plate. Then he warmed the gravy and looked at the clock, five minutes. He boiled it for two minutes and poured it on the potatoes.

He thought he was done but he forgot something. A drink! Three minutes left. He ran to the fridge and looked to find a apple. A juicer was situated in the cabinet and he juiced the apples. He poured the residue into a glass and to his surprise, the buzzer went off.

The announcer came up and spoke loudly into the mike. The hour has gone! Now it's time for the judges to make their choice! The crowd cheered and each competitor brought up their dish and placed it in front of the judges. Name tags were placed beside each plate. The Loki and the others went backstage again to cool off as the judges tasted. Loki sat in his chair and sighed. He had done his best and that was that. He rested his eyes for a few minutes until the announcer called again. He stepped out and looked at the crowd. To win, at least two judges had to pick your dish so Loki looked at them deeply. The Town Mayor got up. "All your dishes were just..wonderfull but I onl have one option. And that is... The mayor paused. Loki Basara. His chicken just made me feel...like I was flying on clouds. The crowd clapped and Loki smiled. One down, two to go. The second judge, Ms.Flo got up. "Usaki is my choice. Ms.Flo cut to the chase. Loki frowned and looked at Usaki who was smiling and waving to the audience. Damn, one other person picked. Then Mayes got up and cleared his throat. Today was a great day. All you...good cooks made good dishes. Loki wondered why he hesitated and looked at the group. Then he understood. Mabye their food was good but their looks...eh. Then Mayes continued, But today I pick Loki. Loki's spirits lifted, and so did his arms.

He had won! He still had it in him..Maribelle taught him well. Loki went to the front of the stage and did a thumbs up and yelled I'm number one!

The announcer came up with 1,000 beri and handed it to Loki. Loki took it and put it in his pocket. His prize was some cash but his honor had risen today. And with a final bow he turned and went backstage to sit in his chair. He but his back to the chair and closed his eyes and right away, he fell asleep.

[OOC: First off.. I'M SOOOO SORRY IT'S TAKEN SO LONG TO REPLY!!! :'''''( I had exams to study for and my brain was just gone this weekend! *bows repeatedly* I'm so sorry! Second off, since the 'I want to shoot my brains out exams' are done, the easier ones are this week but it's only a quiz and midterm for Music Theory so I should be able to keep up. Again, very sorry! ><]

Yumeko's eyes watched intently as each contestant was pushing themselves to make each dish unique and their own. Either way, the smell was good, she didn't care what they looked like, as long as it smelt good and tasted amazing, she could care less what it looked like. Her red eyes scanned over the judges, their mouths were watering at the aroma as well.

The buzzer went off just as the contestants finished their last part. They placed their plates down next to their name tags on the table and were ushered to the back stage. Yumeko's mouth started watering. Slowly, she reached over to Jake, tugging on his sleeves, "Jake, who ever wins gets to make me a plate of meat right?" She said, asking if it was okay to be fed. It was like a weakness she had; she loved food, she loved meat. Meat was a great source of protein, and protein helped muscle development... at least that's what her sensei had told her.

As the judges began their tasting, they started mumbling to themselves and the others, but Yumeko didn't hear their words. However, their expressions showed it. The satisfaction of the meal or the complete monstrosity of the meal was plain to see on their faces. However, she noticed that two of the judges seemed to have more approving faces to a certain dish than the others.

Yumeko found herself silently and secretly wishing that Loki won, simply because his dish never left her eyes. Chicken and mash potatoes with gravy and some apple juice? It was something her mother would have cooked. The feeling of a home-styled meal while on a dangerous hunt for a man that took everything away? It would be her little piece of heaven.

She was suddenly snapped out of her trance when she saw the judges start to stand. "All your dishes were just..wonderfull but I only have one option. And that is... " The mayor paused. "Loki Basara. His chicken just made me feel...like I was flying on clouds."
That was good, at least one vote for her choice was made. She knew Loki would need at least one more vote to win. The second judge, Ms.Flo got up. "Usaki is my choice." Ms.Flo cut to the chase. Yumeko's lips twitched in a frown, Usaki? No way. Then Mayes got up and cleared his throat. "Today was a great day. All you...good cooks made good dishes." He paused for a moment, as if trying to find the right words before he continued, "But today I pick Loki."

Yumeko watched as Loki came out, jutting his thumbs up in a victory and stashing the reward money in his pocket before leaving to the back stage. it was another moment before the announcer let everyone leave, thanking them for joining and the crowd started to dissipate. Yumeko cracked her neck, "Well Jake, I think that's our cue to find Loki and let you two do business, huh?" She said, before standing up and stretching her arms in the air. Yumeko wasn't a person to stay seated for too long, she hated feeling stiff and sore. Her eyes flashed to Jake, waiting patiently. This was Jake's job, his choice, Yumeko was simply following him.

[OOC: Don't worry about it Yumeko, we all get busy in real life. Just make sure of letting myself or any other member of the Blue beret's know what is going on so we won't wonder what the post is being delayed. Just like I did about my problem before.]

Beep Beep Beep

A rapid beeping could be heard from the stage of the cooking contest as the timer got closer to zero. The contestants started to add the finishing touch after hearing the warning timer. Within a minute of the beeping, a buzzer goes off announcing the end of the one hour long cooking contest.

Jake along with every other bystander waited patiently for the food to be distributed to all the judges so they could perform their judging. Suddenly a pull on the sleeve grabbed Jake’s attention. It’s Yumeko, she started to pull his right sleeve to gain his attention as she asked him if the winner of the contest would make her a plate of meat. “The winner won’t make you a plate of meat…The winner will make us both a plate of meat.” Jake replied to Yumeko’s question as the judges started savoring the taste of all foods.

One after another the results of the contest started to be revealed. The crowd remained silent until the winner is announced. At that moment everyone stood up from their seats and clapped for Loki who became the cooking champion of Amino Island. With the decision final, Jake knows that the time has come. A smile cracked on his face when Loki raised both of his thumbs after being awarded some beli for his effort. The crowd starts to exit and before Jake could do the same Yumeko stops him to let him that it’s time to take care of business. In the back of his mind Jake knows this to be true, a cook is an important figure on any ship and an opportunity like this doesn’t always present itself twice. “Let’s take care of business Yumeko, we need to add Loki to our crew. Well as long as his a cool kid.” After finishing his extremely small speech Jake started to maneuver his way out of the wooden bleachers. After stumbling through the rows of wood Jake finally reached floor level.

“Yumeko, we need to sneak back stage so we can talk with Loki.” In order to do this an opening must be found on the lines of the marines who covered the entrance to the back stage. However, the marines didn’t move at all. Instead they all stood still with their guns at their side making them look like a statue, all that’s needed is the color of grey. Even so an entrance is needed to cross path with Loki. If the marines won’t make an opening then Jake will gladly create a gap. Normally a man who will never stir a fight with anybody, but for his goal to be successful it must be done so an exception is open. “This is something I wouldn’t do regularly Yumeko, but this one time we must attack those two marines so we can enter back stage and meet Loki. I’ll take out one of the marines and you take out the other.” A gloomy red door only guarded by two marines presented the weakest point among all the entrances. In a flash Jake made his way toward one of the marines who received a kick to the temple. With the way clear the door is opened.

Jake started to sneak around backstage to prevent himself and Yumeko from being caught. From one room to another he traveled while staying close to the wall. Before moving into any new hallway a stop is made to make sure that it’s clear. Miraculously nobody covered the hallways while Jake navigated it with his friend. After turning a corner a door with the name Loki Basara took Jake’s attention.

Knock Knock

Jake knocked on the door and waited for a reply from Loki. He hoped Loki made it snappy so nobody discovers them.

“Let’s take care of business Yumeko, we need to add Loki to our crew. Well as long as his a cool kid.” He said, looking towards the backstage entrance. After fighting through the crowd, they finally made it to the entrance of the backstage. Yumeko ran her fingers through her black hair, there was a reason she hated crowds for two reasons. One, there was no such thing as personal space. And two, crowded areas always had marines lurking around to make sure 'nothing bad' happened.

In the past, Yumeko never paid the marines any attention. Besides, she was a lowly bounty hunter getting the lowly pirates while they were going after the big shots. However, right now, she wanted to avoid the marines as much as they could until reaching the grand line or even further... However Jake had other plans..

“This is something I wouldn’t do regularly Yumeko, but this one time we must attack those two marines so we can enter back stage and meet Loki. I’ll take out of the marines and you take out the other.” Jake said to her. Before Yumeko could retort, the boy had already taken off, running towards one marine and giving him a nice kick across the temple.

Yumeko gave a light sigh, before she followed suit, coming at the next marine while his attention was focused on Jake. She gave a hard jab to the stomach, making the man lean forward, and sent her other elbow into his face, knocking him out. When he fell to the ground, Yumeko gave a short glance at the man. Good, no serious damage, his nose wasn't even bleeding. She would hate to hurt a man that was merely standing there doing his job.

Without another glance, Yumeko swiftly followed after Jake. For a few moments, she was worried that maybe her boots were being too loud, but she only thought that it was only her imagination. As quickly, yet quietly as they could, the two maneuvered as the could to get to Loki's room, staying close to the walls and always checking before the coast was clear. Miraculously, and too lucky in Yumeko's view, the two made it to the door that displayed his name.

Yumeko turned her back to the door, her eyes glancing down each end of the hall way, "Not to rush Jake, but I'm sure by now that they've noticed that two of their men are out cold... I'm not saying to rush it, but please don't dally, I know you would hate it if your dream ended before it really began." She whispered to him while he knocked on the door, awaiting for Loki to answer.

She felt tense. To her, the journey to get to Loki's room had been easy. WAY too easy. She knew that they would notice two of their members out and it would only be a matter of time before they started to hunt down the people that did this.. Yumeko didn't want to be locked away while a madman was running around, and she was sure that Jake didn't want to be locked away or sentenced to death before finding One Piece. Out of instinct, she let her hand rest on one of the kodachi's. She could just be too tense and over thinking, but it was sometimes the thing that saved her, and it would now have to be something to save Jake and other future crew members.

Her eyes glanced back to the door, she hoped Loki would accept and they could be on their way before any trouble started.

Nobody answered to the knock. Jake worried about this. “What if Loki already left? It’s certainly a possibility.” Many scenarios popped into his mind as to why Loki hasn’t answered. Lots of possibilities exist, but none of those possibilities deter Jake from knocking again. A noise sprung out from behind him with his knuckles less than an inch away from touching the door.

When Jake turned around there stood a battalion of marines with their rifles pointed at Jake. One of the marine soldiers wearing a marine coat yelled at the top of his lungs. “SURRENDER INTRUDERS!” Intruder, that one word makes Jake think that he has been linked to the two marines who guarded an entrance to the backstage. If that’s the case then surrounding is not an option because he did assault a marine soldier. “I am sorry about knocking those two marines out at the backstage entrance, but I needed to talk with the cook of this room. Instead of surrendering, why don’t you marines let me and my friend walk away from here once I speak to Loki who’s behind the door.” Jake noticed a disbelief in the ripped marine who told him to surrender before. The floor shook with every step the tall and muscular marine took. A distance of about seven feet separated Jake from the marine. “You took out two of the guards? I thought you were linked with that other man. Still, not just did you intrude into a private area, but you have just admitted to beating up two marines. A major crime, that is a major crime around here. Prepare for pain. Marines, arrest both of them.” Due to their orders, the marines dropped their rifles and pulled out their cutlass to prepare for a close quarter fight.

One of the marines received a roundhouse kick to the temple by Jake. The single marine being knocked out did not make a difference in the numbers. Multiple marines surrounded Jake with their cutlasses. Jake hit one marine after another as he tried to reduce the numbers of his enemies. The numbers game proved to be too much as his hit from his blind side sending him crashing through Loki’s wooden door.

“What if Loki already left? It’s certainly a possibility.”

Yumeko looked back to him, "Don't say that, it would mean that what we did back there was pointless." She argued lightly. She watched as Jake started to knock again, but something cut him off. The sound of a gun.

She turned her head around, gritting her teeth and eyes slightly narrowing. Just what she didn't want. The marines. “SURRENDER INTRUDERS!”

Yumeko didn't want a fight, but she wondered if she could play off being a bounty hunter, and Jake was her partner... Her mouth started to open-

The sound of Yumeko slapping her own forehead went through the air. Her red eyes turned to her captain, "Jake! You're not suppose to tell them we did that!" She said, pointing to the marines to emphasize the them part. "I could have used my bounty hunter status as a cover up!" She explained, before her ears picked up the man talking.

Oh crap. Yumeko gritted her teeth as they took out cutlasses. Without hesitating, Yumeko's two black bladed Kodachi's were out, ready to take the hits. She hated fighting in cramped spaces, there was no room to move, not with the amount of marines going around.

She wasn't trying to be fancy about her fighting, she just needed them out of her way. Although her slashes were short, they cut the men where she needed them to be cut. Their chest. Their backs. Legs, arms. Anywhere that would make them incapable of holding their blades and harming either Jake or herself. The sound of a crash snapped her head around.

"Jake!" She shouted, freeing herself from a crowd and making her way to where her captain had crashed into Loki's room. "Jake! Are you alright?!" She said, making her way over to the boy. Her eyes turned back around, seeing the marines. The closest object to her was a chair. In once motion she threw it at the door, hitting one marine right in his head.

She scanned the room, looking Loki. Ding. Right on the couch, the little brat was asleep! Her eyes twitched, and made her way to the sleeping man. She didn't even think when she pulled on of the couch cushions from under him and swung the cushion down, aiming for his face. "WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUM!" She shouted to the man. All this hassle was going on and he was sleeping? This was testing her patience.

Loki was fast asleep in all the ruckuss. The knock on his door, the yelling, the fighting, even the kid with the Blue Beret smashing through his door. Then the raven haired lady was the one to awake this "Scorpion". She pulled the red pillow from under Loki causing his head to bang on the sofa. Then she yelled, "WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUM!" Loki opened one eye groggily and looked up to see the face of a woman. Her eyes were blood-shot red like crimson moons and her hair was jet-black and short styled. Loki got up to witness everything around him.

The Blue Beret Boy on the ground, the smashed door and marines running towards his door. Well Loki was a pirate and this girl and this... unconscious boy were probably pirates too. So logically he felt he had to help the two. He didn't even speak to the girl before launching off the sofa with Poseidon in his arms. He grabbed it of the floor and dashed out the room where he sheathed his blade and clashed with the multitude of blades. He used his force and pushed them all back then started mercy-killing the lot by swinging his blade everywhere. The a bunch of bodies fell all around him. He hadn't killed them but had wounded them. His head cranked to the girl and he remembered her words."What was that about being a Lazy Bum?"

Jake stood up to Yumeko and Loki talking. Around them laid a group of marines unconscious. For Jake it’s a wonderful sight to see his first mate and possibly the future cook of the crew getting along. Jake tried to make his way into the conversation, but his approach is cut short by the rest of the marines who storm in the room.

Like a swarm of white and blue color mosquitoes the marines surrounded Jake. Their sharp cutlasses whistled through the air as they came down on Jake who throws himself to the ground in order to avoid the slash from the cutlasses. He performs a tug and roll maneuver which allows him to roll away from the cutlasses. The maneuver moved him away from one situation but stuck him into another situation as his back landed on one of the wooden walls that made the room. Among the swarm of marines one man stepped out with a stomp that vibrated the wooden wall Jake lay on. It was the huge marine who coordinated the attack of the marines before.

”This marine won’t leave me alone apparently and if that is the case then I will have to defeat him.” This train of thought ran through his head as he tightens his blue beret to prepare for the biggest fight of his life so far. All Jake wants to do is set sail with his first mate in Yumeko and hopefully with the cook of the crew in Loki whom he still has to speak too. Unfortunately for him a simple roundhouse kick to the head of a marine has led to a brawl with a bunch of marines who are impeding his passage to Loki. Jake a laid back dude who prefers to avoid confrontation broke his rule onetime to be able to talk to Loki and has paid dearly for it since he must fight a battalion of marines now. There is no more point of holding back his power now, especially when facing a stronger marine then all the others he had faced up to this point.

He took the initiative and made the first move against the ripped marine. “Coliar Kick!” Shouted Jake who moved his feet to perform this technique. This attack signaled the real start of the fight between the Blue Beret Pirates and the marines of Amino Island. As for who will ultimately win the fight, no one knows, each side hopes it’s theirs, but the winner will be determined by whoever wants the triumph over their opponent more.

Coliar Kick: Jake steps on his left foot while pointing it to the side instead of forward. Then he brings his body around with his leg out so the heel part of his foot can kick his opponent across the face. This move can also be done the other way around.
