Her companions seemed to deal with the scorpions without too much trouble. Competent it seemed they were, that or the scorpions only had their armor to rely on, nothing more. She sighed if that was true, these things had given her back her hold on reality. So she had hoped that they would give her something worth concentrating on. If the scorpions were really that weak then it wouldn't be much fun to deal with them at all. As the last scorpion advanced on her, the place where her air strike had glanced off it shone out to her. Their basic armor was quite strong, her best bet would to go for joints where the armor would be slightly weaker.
Her eyes closed calming herself, she removed as many senses as possible from her mind, smell, sight, and sound were lost on her for the few seconds as she could feel the breathing of the armor, the small clicks of the joints as they clacked together because of the movement. That would be her point of interest, the target of her assault. Walking forward she angled her hilt down, the sheath of her sword moving up into the air. As she came upon her opponent she could feel that it was time. Her sword swung outwards in a downwards arc. Sliding down, slicing along the edge of the joint cutting the left claw of the scorpion right off. Her sword now floated in the air above her as the right claw came at her along with the pointed tail.
Jumping back to avoid the stinger which she assumed was poisonous she raised her sword above her head. Both hands now grasped the hilt in an almost kendo-like pose. She wasn't a big fan of kendo but she knew some of the basics. Swinging down hard, her extra sharp blade made contact with the scorpions hard armor. She pressed all her speed and weight into the slice feeling her blade start to slow from making contact. Nevertheless her skills with the sword surpassed the strength of the scorpion armor as she sliced through it. One might say that she sliced through it like butter, but thats a bit of an over statement it was a bit slower but the general idea is the same. The scorpion lay before her, its head split open, blood defiled the green grass where it lay. But now a new sound came, it was still the steady romp of feet, those which were still definitely not human. Except the sound came from deeper within the hole in the hedge. And though she had regained power over her body she still felt a strange pull towards the hedge.
"I don't think we have much of a choice, I would guess that this is the route we must take to the little girl. There is some pull to it which i cannot explain. Only to say that it affects me more than you. I assume it is because i am female." The last comment she said more grudgingly, how she cursed that she was female sometimes. It wasn't all that bad and all, she just disliked it at times. Walking forward she stepped into the rectangular opening in the hedge. It of course, stereotypically led to a maze. And this was only the beginning of it. Though she knew immediately she had an advantage, she was being drawn to the exit.
