The passengers hiding in the dining hall were dumbfounded. The situation was almost comical, a large wolfman standing with his hands up at the mouth of the stairwell, clearly showing that he wasn't a threat. While a half dozen cooks stood at the entryway to the kitchen, brandishing meat cleavers and frying pans. The head cook stepped forward, pushing his way through the small crowd of cooks. "You're trying to tell me you took out all of the outlaws upstairs?"
Zeke's nose twitched, he could smell Mandy just up the stairwell and out of sight. Smiling at the head cook Zeke spoke with calmness, "Old man there's no outlaws in the dining hall is there? I just need you to drop those meat cleavers and frying pans, we both know they belong in a kitchen." The mink spoke with an undertone of authority, not threatening, but it was clear the statement was an order, not a question.
Walking forward with his hands still in the air, the cooks hesitantly looked back and forth between Zeke and the head cook. The distance was closed surprisingly quickly considering the length of the dining hall, and soon Zeke stood directly in front of the cooks still brandishing their weapons. "Come on Old man, you know I'm not a threat"
"Drop them boys"
The clang of metal hitting the ground echoed throughout the dining room as all the cooks dropped their weapons and Zeke let his hands fall to his sides. Phewf, I really didn't want to have to hurt these guys. Still standing directly in front of the cooks, towering over most of them, Zeke felt confident he could stop any from picking up any weapons after he made his next move.
"Coast is clear guys, you can come down." Calling out to his new found teammates while the passengers looked on in horror realizing their last line of defense had just dropped their weapons. "Now you guys go stand in that corner, I can only offer so much protection", Zeke spoke with authority, pointing towards the passengers that were hiding in the corner. The head cook was stunned, getting right in Zekes face, "I should've known you were a traitorous mutt".
Wiping the spittle off his nose, Zeke grabbed the head cooks arm and shoved him in the direction of the corner. "Go old man, before my gratefulness disappears"
