The Crescent Moon Islands had a tumultuous history. Having been taken over by the power of former emperor Selethen, the islands had been freed and were now part of the recently risen Crescent Republic. Following that, it had been under the sway of a charming liar named Octavier. Technically speaking, the islands were not under the sway of the World Government, but constituted protected territory.
Naturally, this was not being followed at all, given the circumstances. The Crescent Moon Islands were a hotbed of potential rebellion and piracy, especially with the terrorist group the Jade Mandate still lurking in the populace.
As such, Agent Cointoss and her current newbie partner had been dispatched to investigate the islands, get some leads on potential threats, and see how the newbie would fare in hostile territory with no direct backup.
Said newbie hadn't arrived yet. Lassa was currently hanging out in a hotel room near the port in Waterway City. The hotel was owned by a government plant, and she had checked the room for listening ports, hidden Den Den Mushi, or similar nonsense. Now, all that was left was to wait for the new arrival.
The normal thing would be to wait in a chair, have a nap, or something similar. As Lassa was not even remotely normal, she was currently hiding in a false ceiling she had constructed out of beige colored cloth. Stretched taught along the top of the doorframe, it made the ceiling seem a foot or two lower, but completely obscured her from view.
When the door finally opened to let in the newbie, Lassa waited a moment to ensure it wasn't housekeeping or something, then swung down and drove two feet towards them, dead silent. It wasn't going to hurt much, but it would serve as a good test of their reflexes and awareness. That, and the file had implied they had a Devil Fruit of some sort.
When the attack either connected, missed or was blocked, she hopped backwards and leaned against a wall. "Hello there. I'm your partner for this mission, Agent Cointoss. Call me Lassa."
