Personality
A woman who is complex and filled with contradiction, those who observe Claudia Carbone might see a definite and oftentimes confusing contrast between the traits of her personality since she can tend to be a woman of extremes, and at times frightening ones at that. On a good day the sort who can be cerebral and yet also passionate and challenging toward others, there are times when she can seem quite outgoing and while somewhat combative as a conversationalist even when she is more positive, she can show a warmth and playfulness that might surprise one if they are used to her more negative inclinations.
These perhaps a little pronounced to tell the truth, to most Claudia tends to be the sort of person who keeps people at arm’s length at best, and can be quite distant and aloof toward many. Serious and stern in her countenance when she needs to be and the fondness that she shows for wit makes her seem sarcastic and superior as a result, she can be quite scathing even without meaning to and downright brutal in her outlay when she does. Introverted for the most part and that really not helping her seem any warmer either, some have dubbed her something of an ice queen which is perhaps accurate in its description of the bearing she often chooses to show, but like so many beneath that wintery exterior beats something far more vibrant and at times volatile than many might expect of her.
Seeming to maintain a persona befitting her position with which she shows great degrees of confidence and entitlement, those who don't know Claudia well would likely assume that she is a bossy and demanding sort, who has high expectations of others and dislikes disappointment. This making people fear her, though beneath the visage she can be quite a different she understands the merit which her façade can bring her, and as such often maintains the image around those outside her confidence. Professional and well-spoken, she can cut to the bone with her words when it suits her, and seems dismissive of those who appear superfluous to her designs as well. Though really, it is at its crux a means of protection, both for those she does not wish to drag into her 'world' and if she was honest, herself as well.
Losing her whole 'world' when her family was slaughtered when she was just a girl, Miss Carbone has a lingering fear of abandonment and rejection, and wholly prefers to deal with others on her terms because of that. Slow to warm up to the people around her but lonelier than she may appear, sometimes she may test folk by pushing them away and seeing who pushes back, and seems to like those who defy that impetus far more than she lets on. Isolated often, she is an island of a woman who needs people to take that first step to draw closer to her, and can be rewarding of those who do so, provided they do not make her feel exposed emotionally.
The internalized and observational nature of the woman making her more sensitive and appreciative of the people around her than she lets on, though she is not all that good at expressing her gratitude toward them that doesn’t stop her cherishing the people who stay true and loyal to her, and while at times her discomfort with her vulnerability might mean she tries to push them away she can become fiercely protective of people in her confidence, and willing to go to extreme measures to protect them.
Often the sort of woman who tends to ‘compartmentalize’ her feelings and passions, those lucky few who truly get close to her can see a stark divide between her cool public persona, and the warmth and tenderness she conceals beneath it. Presenting the image of someone who is clever, witty and professional as a matter of course, though none of these traits disappear around those she has learned to open up to she can seem to be noticeably softer and sweeter toward people she truly cares for.
Some of the iciness she shows perhaps part of a front she has developed to cope with the complicated position she finds herself in, there are times when she might appear to be as ruthless a criminal as any, but in truth she might be far kinder and compassionate than she might wish for most to believe. Possessing a sense of pity toward those who have nothing, both because of her own experience of meagre living and more positive influences in her life, Miss Carbone can show a sense of compassion toward those she feels sorry for, provided she has no reason not to, which is perhaps one of the more affable aspects of her personality. Though this is something she tends to be cautious about admitting, especially around those who haven't earned their way into her trust, and as such she will tend to rebuff or deflect the matter.
On the whole one of the more diplomatic members of her ilk however, while she certainly doesn’t mind a spot of conquest and doesn't shy away from what she might deem necessary violence, on the whole this young capo prefers what she might see as a mutually beneficial arrangement over anything else, in most cases at least. Certainly no fool and not wishing to present a 'weak' image for that matter, those who flout her efforts or otherwise disrespect her are likely to see a far less forgiving side to Miss Carbone, and she can be just as ruthless as any member of her ilk when she needs to be, exploiting both violence and greater machinations in order to ruin folk who make the mistake of upsetting her, and so in summary is likely the kind of woman you would be much happier having as a friend rather than a foe.
Possessing quite the temper in fact, though she takes great efforts to contain it she can show great fury if provoked enough, and harbours a vengeful tendency to bear grudges against those who have wronged her. This not seeming to be much of a surprise to some given the fact that her primary motivations in life is to enact revenge on those who killed her family, while those responsible for this act are the principal target for her wrath that doesn't mean she isn't able to be provoked by other parties.
In some ways once more showing the fair and principled aspects of her personality in this regard, she loathes those who prey on innocents, especially women and children, and can show an uncommon but cool savagery against such people as she can often go out of her way to punish them as she sees fit. Almost cruel as she vents this cold anger, she can be a little sadistic in her tendency to take these acts to extremes, and perhaps uses these 'opportunities' to vent the anger she suppresses about what happened to her family as well, like using a punching bag, made of meat.
Appearance
A tall, pretty and curvaceous young woman who habitually stands out from the crowd for one reason or another, she is a readily noted beauty who carries herself with suave style, and the cool allure of a confident woman. Tall and voluptuous in her figure, Claudia possesses a frame that one might expect from a burlesque performer or old fashioned movie star, with her slim waist leading into broad hips and thighs to give a kind of physique that many might envy or admire. Not wholly opposed to gym work but certainly knowing how to highlight her buxom build, she has a subtle but noticeable tone in her stomach, shoulders and thighs but does not let her body become too ‘beefy’, preferring to exemplify a more shapely frame over something overtly sporty.
Facially looking somewhat refined and delicate, Miss Carbone has a high set of cheekbones that provides her with a sharp and slightly pointed angle of her jaw, and with the slight narrowness of her gaze gives a mildly ‘fox-like’ look to her visage and adds an air of sophistication and youthful maturity to her looks overall. The irises of the girl a glorious green in colour, they subtly combine with the dark shade and style of her hair to look like gems set in a dark frame, and her eyes are framed with a long set of lashes that can be further emphasized with heavy eyeshadow and mascara. Tending to be perhaps a little reserved and subtle in her makeup choices, Claudia prefers to add mystery and glamour to her image and has experience enough to know that less can often be more, usually choosing to highlight features like her cheekbones with understated colour and maybe gloss her lips with a rich, deep tone that compliments her natural skin tone.
Sporting dark, shiny locks that in the wrong light can easily be mistaken for black, in truth Claudia‘s hair has a subtle green tone reminiscent of seaweed, which that only grows duskier in dim conditions or when saturated with wetness. Trimmed relatively short in a style that resembles a messy bob cut, while she can style her hair to be neater generally this dark dish likes to keep her hair looking a little bit wind swept which implies a waviness if she let her hair grow out, and tends to leave the ends bangs cut in a ‘blunt tipped’ fashion. Silky and possessing a noticeable sheen that reflects a mane that has received a reasonable level of care and attention, because of its short length most commonly Miss Carbone will leave it loose to act like frame her pretty face rather perfectly, but it isn’t unheard of for her to tie or otherwise style her hair in a bun or stubby ponytail for the right situation.
The style of clothing that Claudia prefers refined, elegant and deceptively showy, the girl favours dark colours and extravagant materials, and usually has her clothing tailored to show off her curves by having her outfits show a noticeable tightness in the bust, waist and hips. Seeming to favour a kind of ‘less is more’ approach to skin coverage, whilst Miss Carbone is happy to sport a bikini on the beach she often dresses in manners that are a little bit conservative, liking long dresses and skirts and not commonly playing up her ample cleavage. This an effort to create mystique perhaps, while the woman does indeed enjoy attention she prefers to take it on her own terms, and also appreciates her ability to be taken more seriously by choosing not to flaunt her looks for just anyone.
Fond of high heels and deep boots, sometimes Claudia will emphasize this by wearing skirts and dresses with splits that run up to her hips, showing off thigh high stockings and footwear that consumes most of her legs in this effort. This also useful for her sense of mobility should she need it, despite the closeness of the gowns she wears around her ‘assets’ she will often choose looser designs in her hems and sleeves, though isn’t wholly adverse to changing her signature style up on occasions that suit her. Fond of jewellery, she will often flaunt pearls or gold necklaces on top of her shirts or sweaters, and also likes rings, bangles and elegant looking ear wear. Also finding she enjoys eyewear, Miss Carbone will often wear a set of designer sunglasses for a combination of style and anonymity, and might on occasion even sport a pair of non-prescription spectacles when she wishes to look that bit more sophisticated.

Background
Born as the younger of two children in a powerful but not reputable family, Bianca was the daughter of a gangster and the love of his life. Something of a daddy's girl and the man totally smitten with her too, unfortunately her mother died because of complications of her birth so she never knew the woman at all, and this seemed to push her patriarch to treasure the little girl who resembled his beloved so very much. This leading to a very doting relationship between the pair, he would lavish gifts and luxuries upon her, and even interrupted important business meetings and the like when she came calling to him in order to share a cuddle and a kiss as well, raising eyebrows with some.
Always seeming to have a strained relationship with her elder brother, Miro, father moulded him into his successor and was stricter and more distant with him perhaps because of this, and he always seemed ambitious and entitled, but always with a chip on his shoulder. Certainly fancying himself as the 'alpha' of the children and tending to bully his sister at times out of this desire, he had a cool but at times cruel countenance, and at times it was unclear whether he actually valued Bianca as family in the truest sense or simply restrained himself enough not to earn the ire of their patriarch.
Perhaps this teasing and abusive behaviour forming the foundation of the fairer mind which Bianca grew to possess, though some saying that it came from her mother instead, though there were many who were intimidated at school and even in the street by the girl even at a young age she tended not to be the hell raiser her brother was. Quieter for a start and more bookish, she was often soft spoken and more affable because of that, though certainly was in no way meek when the situation called for it.
Perhaps leaning into the 'privilege' that their family occupied a little when she needed to, Bianca would call out unfair situations and clip the ears of bullies where she saw fit, with even bigger lads seeming to be wary of starting a fight. After all, her dad was an important man, and some were under the mistaken belief that 'Mad Miro' would come down on them hard if they hurt his little sister in any way, even if in her heart she didn't believe this was the case. Hell, he'd probably encourage them, when caught in the right or perhaps wrong mood.
Generous and kind, some believed that she seemed to embody the chivalrous spirit of more traditional gang approaches, and she would show that in her behaviour. Not as self-obsessed or involved as some might expect of a woman in her position, when she noticed one of her classmates didn't have lunch she would give up her own and through that encouraged others to do the same by her example, to the point that she started bringing larger and larger lunches so that she and her friends could create little feasts for all who were hungry.
Even at one point giving her shoes to a classmate who she noticed had none, though her chaperone was concerned when Bianca left school barefoot, when she explained her reasons and how it felt just awful for them papa only smiled and remarked what a good girl she was, and then sent a few of his men with her to the home of the family as she dropped off the wealth of her wardrobe to the family as well. This even seeming to prompt him to be more charitable, while many were intimidated by the family and their position the group earned popularity and favour from the populace by holding feasts and giveaways, in order to help the people less fortunate than them.
Unfortunately not everyone happy about this and Miro certainly showing little approval of such a foolish practice, whether it was the mere act of giving away their gains or the favour which his sister had earned which bothered him more is unclear, but he certainly seemed rather infuriated by it all the same. Partaking only begrudgingly, he tended to be rude and insulting to the needy, and often ended up with a clipped ear and orders to head home early in the event. Though that was probably what he wanted.
The years continuing to roll by but doing little to soothe the relationship between the pair, as Miro grew older and more resentful of a sister he saw as the favourite he only seemed to long to torment her more, and gradually grew more creative in his methods. Bianca growing older and more assertive even with him, she stood up to him when he laid into her and proved quick to boot his shin of slap his face when he tried to make things more physical, so he set to ruining her life where he could in other ways.
Attempting to drive a wedge between her and her friends, he would make threats and start rumours, and used his little gang of lackeys to ensure that people were less welcoming of a girl he wished to isolate, often going after people she was friendly with. Boys especially, which seemed to dampen her attempts at romance severely. One such occasion seeing the girl getting a little fresh and friendly with one of her classmates, Bianca was riddled with guilt when Miro and his cronies gave the boy a sound thrashing for supposedly 'taking advantage' of his baby sister, when the truth was anything but.
This naturally frustrating the femme, she complained to her father about the incident but it seemed that Miro managed to play this and future incidents off simply as a brother being overprotective of her, which dad was fooled into thinking was a good thing as he thought it meant they were finally growing closer. This proving useful to the lad in fact, such assumption was something he could use to pick on her and control her as she grew older, and he became adept at playing the role of the worried big brother.
Unfortunately Miro's insistence hard to shake now that dad seemed to think it was for her own good, he would jump on any and every opportunity to interfere in her life, chaperoning dances and the like often with his cronies and bullying away anyone who wanted to share a moment with the girl, all Bianca could do was stand there and watch everyone else having fun, and grit her teeth as he made a mockery of people where she could, and cause a scene where she could not. Every little thing she wanted for herself having to be private to keep it 'alive', she learned to steal away with the people she liked if only for a moment to escape the hold her brother had over her.
Steadily learning to get good at evading her 'guards', she developed a knack for slipping away from them in crowds, and enjoyed a little proper free time because of that. Dipping away from them so that she could have some peace and independence, and also because she knew it pissed them off, though her brother and at times even father gave her a hard time for doing so it was usually worth it even just for a few minutes of direction dictated only by her own design. Unfortunately, it would seem that Miro would soon design an even crueller way to cage her, and with the intent of doing so for good.
Expanding his connections as they both grew through their teen years and he into his early twenties, he developed alliances with other young and ambitious sorts eager for power, and even seemed to earn some repute for forged a friendship with the son of one of father's rivals. Striking up a deal through this to join their families through marriage, though dad seemed reluctant there was some concern about what to 'do' with Bianca, and with great assurances she was going to have a good and well-kept life with a boy who was now one of the best friends of her brother, he hesitantly agreed to the proposal.
The girl herself certainly by no means happy about this, since she had every intention of joining the gang properly, she protested the decision emphatically and certainly didn't trust the intention of her brother who she assumed was only trying to get rid of her. The lad seeming sweet to her at the very least, though it took time she gradually began to understand that her father was terrified of the idea of something bad happening to her, and much like her father went along with the plan in spite of her doubts to keep him happy. After all, they said that she could still live on the island, and be near the man as much as she wanted. This was her biggest mistake, their biggest mistake in fact, since both her and her patriarch vastly underestimated the ambition involved, and the deceit.
What followed a tense and terse wedding where Bianca reluctantly made her vows and married a boy she barely knew at the tender age of only seventeen, what followed was a nightmare as Miro and his allies waited for the 'happy' couple to depart by carriage, then launched their attack. The foolish boy duped into making a devilish deal to assume leadership of the Bucciarati empire, in alliance with their rivals to form a supergroup, after doing away with the old of course.
Watching as his new friends pulled smuggled weapons and began to slaughter loyalists, Bianca had no idea what was happening until her intended dropped his act in the carriage, and clapped her around the face when she showed a reluctance to embark on their supposed honeymoon around the exotic lands that surrounded them. Telling him that her father would make her pay for that, he cackled as he confessed the true design of the occasion and the assumption that her dad was dead already, but underestimated the resolve of the devastated young woman as she caught him with a couple of slaps of her own, and then dove from the carriage afterward.
Kicking off her heels and tearing her wedding dress so she could run, Bianca made a run back for her home in spite of having her beau and the carriage driver on her heels, and having lost them in the wilds off the road, she arrived to find the slaughter involved. Welling up as she saw her brother parading around like a conquering hero and callously executing her patriarch, she picked up a gun and made to take revenge on them for all of this, but never had a chance, regardless of the odds against her.
Snatched though fortunately not by one of her enemies, though wounded one of her father's men managed to grab hold of her and pull her away, before the two of them retreated from the scene in desperation. His name Guido, Bianca was forced to support him over her shoulder in fact when the adrenaline wore off due to his injures, clutching him in one hand and her weapon in the other as they stumbled toward town covered in blood. Luckily finding friends waiting though not ones that her saviour expected, people from the nearby time offered shelter and support as best they could, dressing their injuries and offering their food, even if they knew that they were risking their lives doing so.
Moving from one house and to the next as the folk of the land sheltered them, Bianca and Guiodo lay low in disguise as his injuries healed, with the girl even forced to cut off her long hair and pose as a boy in order to allay suspicion. Luckily aided in this by the fact that Miro's men were for the most part comprised of agents from their rival turned enemy, they didn't know either she nor the townsfolk well, and didn't seem to expect a criminal gang to be so fiercely protected in their escape either.
Allaying suspicion further by just so happening to leave what remained her tattered wedding dress floating in the water by the docks as a 'clue' under the cover of night not long after taking shelter, their enemies seemed to assume she had fled or enough so that their invasion seemed to ease with time, and allow the pair some breathing room. Guido recovering enough that they could seek out a secret cache of valuables in the meantime in order to afford and enable their escape, he shared what he could with the people he was grateful to, and managed to smuggle himself and his 'son' out of there under the guise of being fishermen.
Leaving her homeland behind, the threat of pursuers meant that their low profile needed to continue, and so maintaining the 'father and son' role the pair drifted to north blue, and spent the next years living in hidden exile. The guardian of the girl working hard to provide for them of course but both outside their element, the demand to avoid attention meant that they eked out a meagre at a port town, with 'dad' working as a labouror and wherever else he could while Bianca had to accustom herself both to a modest lifestyle and her new familial situation.
No more dad and no more large and lavish homestead to call her own, it was certain that the ordeal which Bianca had been through had her full of grief and no shortage of anger either. Bitter and perhaps left with too much time to dwell on that fact as well, the once sweet and happy girl only became more morose and macabre, and was lost for a time. A clever but in many ways tortured soul, she longed for revenge on her despicable siblings, but as the months rolled by and the news of the newly aligned gangs successes reached her and Guido she knew she couldn't do it without getting stronger, and getting allies of her own.
Initially falling in with a bunch of punks and delinquents and at least provided with an outlet for her anger through this, she got into fights with people, but soon found herself at odds with such a lifestyle. Carrying a certain code of conduct and the behaviour she was pulled into increasingly at odds with it, Bianca could remember the kindness of the townsfolk who sheltered her after his death, and as such found herself increasingly discomforted as her fellows seemed to go after anyone like wild dogs. Picking the toughest and roughest folk because they seemed the best allies initially, as the months rolled by she couldn't help but feel a disdain for the common criminal, and looked for a way to break out of the habit.
This happening in a rather pointed fashion on occasion when they broke into a store and one of their members was blindsided by a scared shopkeeper armed with a poker for the fire, the boy lost it and would have likely killed his attacker if not for Bianca's intervention, and decision to stand up for him. Diving in the way and swatting him with her hand, she got in a scuffle and though overpowered, managed to make enough commotion to draw the interest and attention of neighbours and lawmen, who arrested all the interlopers.
Luckily for Bianca the shopkeeper speaking up on her behalf given how she had defended him, she was released with a warning thanks to this and perhaps a little bribery from her adopted patriarch. The man certainly less than thrilled to hear all she had been up to, he at least seemed to respect her for standing up for her principles, remarking that it reminded him of her father, and brought her home to rest as he went about making amends for the black eye and bruises she had suffered in the scuffle. The following day find her ex and his gang black and blue and begging for forgiveness, she told him and his cronies that if she ever saw him again she would be the last thing he ever saw, and sent him packing with that.
Perhaps encouraged by this incident to open up to her protector, while he tried to nudge her toward a more peaceful and innocent life, ultimately Bianca refused to accept that and instead was now intent on living up to her father's legacy, as well as avenging him as well. The man telling her that both would be a far taller challenge than she imagined but ultimately seeming to accept her goal, he began to teach her to fight as well, remarking that it was embarrassing that a girl like her couldn't take care of a few punks like those.
Showing her how to throw a proper punch and even how to use a gun as well, beyond this he also educated her in proper gang manner, which was important for a boss to learn. For her part Bianca seeming to enjoy this and prove a quick study as well, it was nice to have something for her to aim toward in life after feeling adrift for so long, and even better to know she was living up to her legacy while doing so as well.
Polishing up her mind as well as her skills as she did so, he reinforced the idea that the greatest asset a capo could have was their cunning; knowing where to see an opportunity and how best to exploit it, and so they worked together to run a little racket in her new home. The work at the port providing plenty of chances to make a little on the side, Bianca used her cleverness to conceal skimming from cargo loads, and began to create a little network for smugglers and pirates to use as well for black market activity.
This only the beginning however, as Bianca's talent showed and her understanding grew so too did her bearing, and she began to take shape as a leader. Assuming leadership of a few heists and operations under Guido's advisement, she began to look to developing her reputation and group carefully and cautiously. Knowing that she would risk ruin if she wasn't careful, Bianca used the changes of recent years to reinvent herself as 'Claudia Carbone', buying the identity of a girl who had died in the North years before as a cover and establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with.
Ever ambitious and perhaps sharing that with her brother but certainly more gifted when it came to diplomacy and public spirit, even though she was young and good at what she did, some found it strange that she was a bit of a 'soft touch' when it came to her territory. Learning her lessons that there was far more value in loyalty than gold or silver, she operated with a firm but fair hand, and was kind and generous to her townsfolk. Wanting to be the kind of leader who took any harm to those under her protection as an affront to herself, she disposed of the punk gangs and trouble causers, and parlayed with visiting pirates to ensure they knew that they were on her turf, not theirs.
All the while accumulating power, though she needed to take risks to achieve her ends the rewards seemed worth it, and before long she had established a small but successful group as the Capo of the Carbone clan. Forging alliances where she needed to for common gain, she picked her friends as wisely as she could, and only made enemies where necessary, though never compromised her ideals either. Thinking that this would be the difference between herself and the brother she hated, though there were times when she questioned whether her approach was the right one, ultimately she stayed true to her ideals. At least complimented by Guido on her feeling of responsibility, he told her that it took bigger balls to let an enemy live rather than watch them die, and reckoned she was many times the man he ever would be for doing that.
Never forgetting her goals however, she has turned her eye to expansion and ascension, eying the Grand Line and the home she left behind now more than ever. Sensing her time coming soon to begin her plan proper, she has separated from Guido as the pair work to better broach her brother's empire and see how they might best demolish it, Claudia waits for the day when she can share a bittersweet reunion with her brother and finally make him pay for all he had done. I mean, it's about damn time, right…?
