Yoshi looked at the two before him, their difference in opinion being very clear. This may actually be the funniest married couple he’s ever seen and he was sure that if not for this man’s wife, he wouldn’t be helping him in any way, so she must have quite some influence on him.
When Samuel began his explanation, Yoshi’s attention drifted onto him and the young man was focussed, nodding in response. He was right, it could simply be a rumour and none of what the kind woman said might actually be true… but then again, doing anything would be better than doing nothing, at this point. As Anabella credited cleaning ladies as the honest people, Yoshi couldn’t help smiling, despite how serious the situation was. She was simply such a delightful woman to listen to.
Then his attention went back to the psychiatrist. He noticed that his wife didn’t interject this time as they spoke of the possible risks to their own safety and the two were in agreement. A look of disappointment plagued Yoshi’s face, but he nodded with a sigh of his own. “I understand…”
As Samuel continued, Yoshi followed once again. It was disheartening to hear his words, but even Yoshi, as hopeful as he was, knew that what the man was saying was correct. It was a risk by itself and there was no guarantee that the results of it, even if the task was carried out perfectly and they survived being outnumbered. The blond sighed solemnly and remained silent for a few seconds, considering everything that he had just said.
Eventually, he nodded and stood up from his seat.
“It’s a huge risk, I get it. It might not be successful even if all odds are defied and things go according to plan.” He said, watching both of them for their responses. “But I have to do this.” He confirmed Samuel’s suspicion of Yoshi being nothing short of desperate to reclaim his old life. “I can’t keep living like this, and no matter what the odds are, I have to try. If you don’t want to be a part of it, I will understand. You’ve already done a lot for me and I’m very grateful.” He paused to take a deep breath, “I will do this alone.” He muttered, the uncertainty in his voice extremely clear, but he was an honest man, guilty of no crime, and would not be forcing anyone to put their lives in danger on his behalf. Of course, he hoped that they would offer, as at least one of these two clearly knew how to disarm an opponent. That way, he wouldn't feel guilty for pushing anybody into any dangerous situations against their will.
“You have to understand, I have nothing left to lose…” he lowered his gaze, sadly, a victim of circumstance who’s already lost everything.
