There was a charm to an open-air market, the sounds of people bustling about buying and selling their wares in a bartering session. It was something that just gave a place life. Wares of all kinds could be found here from knock off apparel to toys, from home grown fruits and veg to mass produced baked treats. Anything and everything was here, which made it the place to be to find rare and exiting trinkets or exotic snacks.
Walking through the crowds with her arms glowing a bio-lumincent blue was a short orange skinned fish woman, a rarity in the east blue given how far away from the native homeland of fishman island it was. Dressed in a dazzling white two-piece swimsuit, a sarong skirt and thin strap stap sandal boots that went up to just below her knee, she was getting attention from every pair of eyes that noticed her. It was quite empowering to the party girl who was dancing through the market stalls with the music being played in the central square by the local band being good enough to groove too. Eyes also spotted the belt pouch bag that she wore around her waist, something that was bound to hold her money as there could be nowhere else, she could store anything.
“Hey! You Miss!” A sleazy voice called as he darted up to the woman. A man in a trench coat, in this summer heat? Was he insane? “Glowy! Have I got something for you!” He spoke as he got in Kenzie’s path, making her stop her smooth walk around, catching her gaze from the stall that had specialist flavours of Pipsi.
“Hm?” She hummed as her eyes scanned over the man properly, his greasy slicked back mop of hair that seemed to be thinning in places no man wants it thinning. His face seemed gaunt and skeletal with sunken cheeks and dark bags under his grey eyes. “What’ve ya got?” She asked with a raised eyebrow, her red hair covering the other eye.
“Well…” His eyes shifted from side to side before he stood straight and opened his trench coat wide to reveal his almost skeletal frame that was clad in a black t-shirt and floral shorts. Lining the inside of the coat he had all sorts, watches, jewellery and expensive looking eyewear. “For a beauty like you? I think anything goes.” He spoke before taking another look.
The Fish woman looked at him and then to the ware that were lining his pockets and hanging out just right to show them off. “Huh…” She spoke as a glowing hand reached into a pocket and pulled out a bracelet. The silver chain wrapped around gems and bound them in a way that on a good day with the right light a person could peer right through them. Now that… that could look really good on her. “How much for this?”
“For a pretty Doll like you? 500 Beri.” He replied almost too quickly.
The party girl scrunched her face up somewhat then shrugged. “Deal!” In a flash her dextrous hands opened her pouch, fished out a 500 beri note and then handed it over. “Good doing business with ya.” She spoke, if this was a fake it looked really convincing. If it were real? Then this was an absolute steal and the man did not know what he really had. A smile donned her face as the gems were slipped over her hand and onto her wrist snuggly, as the light of her forever glowing arms shone through them it shifted in colours and gave the gems an ethereal otherworldly glow. It was spectacular.
As she looked up, the sleazy man had vanished into the crowd… Oh well, this was a good buy!
