Personality

Gullible Gus

Tael will literally believe everything that he hears unless it’s something negative about the people he cares about even from the people he cares about. He’s extremely naive and gullible and loves to hear fantastic stories. To him, the world is a magical and wonderful place full of fun and adventure.

Foolhardy Fly

Styling himself as a brave sea adventurer, Tael has courage bordering on reckless. He charges into dangerous situations, thinking because he's armored that he’s invincible and that it’s his responsibility to protect his more frail sister. He is quite brave, but he could stand to have a bit of caution.

Lovable Lad

Overwhelmingly kindhearted and considerate, Tael goes out of his way to do nice things for the people that he loves. He’s incredibly sweet, gentle, and soft hearted. He has optimism in spades and chooses to always see the best in others - and ignore the bad in them. He very much wants to be everyone’s friend.

Cowardly Crybaby

When things start getting too scary for Tael, his courageous facade crumbles, showing his age. He cowers behind those he trusts when things get serious. He hates that he’s unreliable, but he’s much more scared of getting hurt and bad things happening to him. It’s too much!

Loyal Friend

Above all, once you’re Tael’s friend, you have an infallible friend who will always believe the best of you and even idolize you. Even if he’s scared, he’ll do everything that he thinks that he can to help. Because that’s what friends do! If only he held his friends to the same standard...

Appearance

From a distance, Tael looks like a glowing purple ball of light with wings. Up close, he’s a tiny chibi of a boy with a big head and little body. His tail has been replaced with a firefly abdomen which glows with a purple light. His skin is covered by a pale violet exoskeleton that is extremely tough. His eyes and hair are both dark purple. He has two sets of insect wings on his back. He usually wears summer clothes unless it's cold. Then he bundles up so much that just looks like a ball of fluff.

Firefly Armor
Heavy Cyborg Trait, Fixed

Having incorporated and improved the natural armor of the firefly, Gheata made it so that Tael would be capable of enduring incredible punishment and avoid pain or injury unless the attack has the distinct ability to break through tough materials like stone or steel. Tael loves this trait and will often boast about how he’s invincible.

Cold Iron
Heavy Cyborg Trait, Fixed

Unfortunately, the enhanced armor has made Tael particularly vulnerable to cold climates and attacks. If he gets too cold, he starts to shut down, falling asleep to conserve energy. The cold makes him ache and hurt, and Tael hates that feeling.

Fairy Fast
Heavy Cyborg Trait, Optional

Despite the extensive changes to his biology, Tael still retains his dwarf speed and agility. He zips around from place to place, a bundle of energy. He doesn’t move at blinding speeds, but when he’s moving, he’s extremely difficult to hit.

Glow Bug
Heavy Cyborg Trait, Optional

Thanks to his firefly adaptations, Tael glows a dark purple - his favorite color! He also has wings and can fly. His bushy tail was converted into a firefly’s abdomen.
