▪︎Clever. Despite being a brawler through and through Kozen isn't a meathead. He can see through a plan and will get to it quickly if he likes it enough. In fact more often than not he rather hear out an intelligent plan rather than go with raw bruteforce.
▪︎Charismatic. Kozen has many short comings, that much is obvious. But despite all that he exudes a raw charisma and likeability that's difficult to explain in many instances. Perhaps this is best reflected in the way he treats people he likes or enjoys around him as he always gives them the respect they deserve valuing their opinions be they right or wrong. This is among the redeeming qualities the aspiring pirate has. After all he aspires to create an environment where everyone is important and is accepted. To a degree this is even showed to his enemies whom he believes to be as important as him in the grand scheme of the universe! To him all have a purpose they must fulfill.
▪︎Unrelenting. Beaten by life to a pulp and told he wasn't worth the space he took. Kozen has an unrelenting aura... one that doesn't let him give up no matter what. It doesn't matter how difficult something is he will fight it head on without giving up. More often than not this attitude can inspire those around him giving them a minor boost to moral as they see him facing off against the odds with the goal to win.
▪︎Outspoken. Kozen does not beat around the bush! He will speak his mind and say what hes thinking even if said thing comes off as crass. The man simply doesn't care! He will speak his mind even if doing so in the moment isn't the smartest thing to do. Not only that but the young man encourages others to do the same! Everyone has a right to speak!
▪︎Barbaric. One of Kozen's many flaws... at times he can come off as rather rustic and barbaric. He has no honor in combat and will simply strong arm his way to the top no matter the costs. This is perhaps a byproduct of his background as an orphan where more often than not he was forced to claw his way through to get anything he wanted.
▪︎Impatient. Waiting? That word isn't in Kozen's dictionary! He hates waiting through and through. Why do something later when you can do it now? Perhaps this bit is what trumps his clever nature as sometimes he'll ruin elaborate plans do to his impatient outbursts. This also goes with the way he speaks as when combined with his outspoken nature he will say things without thinking them.
▪︎Rowdy. This is the cherry ontop, Kozen is outspoken, impatient, and barbaric. All these things combine just create an extreme explosive personality with rowdy simply amplifying them even more. Kozen is loud and disorderly always bringing in attention from everywhere... not like beacon of light but rather like an explosive firework. Out of all his personality traits this one is the one that gets him into trouble the most.

Always adrift, Kozen was born in the Grand Line in the land of Zaisho an island of proud sword-wielding warriors who had escaped long ago. Despite being born in a deep corner of the Grand Line the young boy found himself being left on a small quaint island in the West Blue. There in a basket, he was left in the Strawberry Hill orphanage with a golden dragon claw on his person and a letter that described the boy's name. Swiftly he was brought into the care of the orphanage and looked over.
Life in the orphanage wasn't easy, if anything it was extremely difficult... the headmistress running the place at the time was called "Mother Marcel" and she was a wicked woman who mistreated the children. She specifically had a grudge against Kozen who she would always mock and remind him he was destined for nothing because he would talk back to her. This usually resulted in severe punishments for Kozen as he was locked in dark isolated rooms and purposefully underfed. The whole process was very uncomfortable for the boy... this created resentment in his heart a deep resentment of authority.
On one faithful day, Kozen met a young boy... a brand new arrival to the orphanage. This strange new boy began to spread rumors amongst the kids... of a distant camp of free children. There was an insurgence of some wild kids who wanted to liberate some of the orphans. To the young Kozen, such a tale was too tall to believe... however that very thought of such a group remained firmly planted in his mind. Although the more time passed the less hopeful of such a thing he became. Days passed nothing. Weeks passed nothing. Months passed nothing. It was just all more of the same.
However, in due time the young man's patience was paid. On a night in mid-April, there was a raid on the orphanage! A band of ragtag wild children broke in freeing as many orphans from Mother Marcel's grasps. Among them was Kozen who managed to escape out into the woods! No more Mother Marcel! He was free! Or so he thought... the truth was that the camp was lead by an older kid one simply known as Joji. Not being too fond of authority Kozen was always a bit wary of Joji. Despite this Joji tried his best to be a good friend, he liked Kozen and in due time both became like brothers.
In fact, it was Joji who seeded Kozen's greatest dream. The dream to become the pirate king! Although Joji's reasoning for it was purely monetary... Kozen saw it as something different. To him being Pirate King meant great fame! After all, a local Inn was called "The Pirate King" if places with such names existed... then Kozen wanted his hands on that treasure! However, there was a problem. Joji also wanted to find the treasure... and well he loved Joji like a brother. Not really wanting to be enemies he invited Joji to join his future pirate crew to which the other boy immediately declined. At first, Kozen was a bit hurt and mildly annoyed, but eventually, he understood. Every man's glory was individual and he would not steal Joji's glory if that's what he wanted. No, they would have to fight over it fair and square out in the high seas.
