-- CHAPTER I //Highway to Heaven! In the Land of Luxury!
It was high morning the sun was at a high angle propped up on the big blue sky. To most this was a beautiful day full of opportunity in the 'fun department' but to Aizen, this was just another day like any other. The sun's bright yellow rays glazed over the marble streets of Maethen City giving the entire city-scape a bright appearance. It had been just an hour or two since he'd gotten off the boat that had brought him here... Aityaia.
This island was different than both Karate Island or Dance Island. Unlike Dance Island, it was extremely bright and colorful! Vibrant and full of life! An action could be found in every corner and voices filled every ounce of air. Unlike Karate Island, people in this place didn't seem to have a stick up their ass. So this was a welcome change for Aizen.
"Mmm, how quaint."
Aizen mumbled to himself as he was hit with a sensory overload from the Island's part. Bright shining sun, scantily clad tourists with colorful bikini and swimming trunks. There was also smell of tobacco and cheap booze which filled the air. As the monk turned a corner, he spotted a man wearing a bright orange guayabera and wearing a straw hat played on a marimba filling the already full air with a pleasant caribbean tune. It didn't take long before a crowd formed around him dancing to the sound beat of the metal pieces clinging with each other.
This bit brought a smile to Aizen as well, the man also saw himself attracted to the beat of the song... it was different from the mantra and chants that he heard in the monastery. This music was different, it had no true purpose... it was just there for admiration and Aizen enjoyed that. There was nothing wrong with it... it was simply there. As he listened in on the music something else filled his ears... a voice. Not Human or Fishman. No, this one was distinct and rather sing-song... it could only be the voice of a bird.
"Oi oi oi! Here they go again! Making noise! Bah! Stupid humans!"
Came the voice from a nearby parrot who perched itself on a nearby post. Another bird, this time a Tucan sat next to the parrot in seeming admiration of the festivities.
"I don't know, I enjoy the beat. Why do you always have to be so cranky?"
Aizen put a hand up to his mouth as he listened to the two speak. A part of him wished he could join in on the conversation, but they were in public. That would be a bad idea, anytime he spoke with animals in public areas people always took badly to it. No matter how kind people were, no matter how open-minded they claimed to be. They were always the same deep down. Afraid. Afraid of change. Afraid of what they do not understand. Aizen frowned, turning his attention back to the music in the hope that he could block out both of the avian voices.
