Kin Kin no Mi
English Name: Clang Clang Fruit
Classification: Paramecia
Owned By: Umeboshi Alice
Appearance
The Kin Kin no Mi resembles a cape gooseberry. The fruit is surrounded by translucent leaves that have the blue-green hue of tarnished copper. The fruit inside is covered with the customary swirling pattern of Devil Fruits. The fruit is shiny and chrome like metal. While cool and hard to the touch, biting into the fruit is like biting into tin foil. The pulp is a lighter shade of chrome and juicy, bursting with painfully acidic flavor.
Ability
This Devil Fruit turns its user into an Metal Assimilation Cyborg ("Kinzoku Dōka Saibōgu"), granting them the following abilities...
- Metal FusionThrough direct contact with metal, the Devil Fruit user may dive into and merge with it, controlling it as if it were an extension of their own body. While merged, the user may freely traverse inside connected pieces of metal and emerge elsewhere. This travel is not instantaneous, and the user occupies a specific space inside the structure at all times.
- Metal ManipulationThe Devil Fruit user may shape and control metal as they please while merged with it. It can be formed into shapes and stretched and morphed fluidly while still retaining its durability. This only applies to metal that is connected to the user while they are merged with it.
- Metal AssimilationOnce the Devil Fruit user’s abilities are active, they may continue to absorb metal from their environment, provided their new metal body touches the new material. This allows the user to accumulate more and more metal, regardless of type, growing larger and larger. This accumulation of different types of metals usually amounts to a mish mash pattern.
Weaknesses
- Kairoseki ("Sea-Prism Stone") debilitates the user by sapping their strength and prevents them from consciously controlling or activating their power.
- Submersion in water renders the Devil Fruit user immobile and causes them to sink, reverting them to their giant form and preventing conscious control of their abilities.
- Contact, even if it’s indirect, is required for this Devil Fruit. Pieces of metal that are separated from the user cannot be controlled. Limiting the amount of metal in the environment severely limits the Devil Fruit user’s abilities.
- The weaknesses of metal still apply to the Devil Fruit user while submerged within it. Acid, especially, causes metal to tarnish and rust, which can render it an immovable, malfunctioning piece that can cut off their connections.
