Silent Genius
Gabriel was born with genius level intellect and very serious, analytical mind, that made him mature way faster than his peers. Because of that he could hardly find any friends and so learned to prefer solitude and company of books and good music over other living persons. Growing as a loner, he quickly learned how to listen and watch instead of speaking, making him look as a very closed and serious person, that can be only hardly reached by anyone with the exception of his closest friends.
Compassionate Person
Spending majority of his time outside of the social life of other people didn´t turn Gabriel into cold and heartless person, despite what someone can say about him. On the contrary, as he is quite empathetic, he is deep inside compassionate and carrying individual who is willing to risk his health and life for helpless and defenseless people in need. And not only people, but also animals. Especially stray puppies and dogs have very special place in his so called “stone cold heart”.
Gifted Teacher
Take well read person who is also very empathetic and compassionate. Add an ability to judge person´s skills and talents gained by years of watching people from afar rather than interacting with them, and you will get excellent teacher and instructor in whatever field he choose. In Gabriel´s case it´s mainly history and ancient philosophy which are subjects he is lecturing at the university. Even through many new students fear him, because of his stern and cold look, after few lectures they learn to appreciate him as a well of knowledge that is unparalleled in his ability to pass them on others. Dedicated Martial Artist
In his youth, Gabriel had no interest in Martial Arts or other combat activities, however his study of ancient philosophies led him naturally to this disciplines as well awakening deeply hidden fascination in him. For years Gabriel studied many martial arts and martial traditions, spending fortune on obtaining ancient manuals and books that described many already extincted school and forgotten techniques. This study gave him encyclopedic knowledge of martial arts word together with some unique fighting skills, however given his lack of real fighting experiences his true potential as a fighter is currently very limited. Also, despite his skills, Gabriel isn´t natural fighter. His first instinct is always to reason with potential enemy, using force only as the last reason and even than he prefers incapacitation of the enemy over their death.

Physical Description
Gabriel is tall man in his early thirties, who keeps himself in fairly good condition with regular practice of a different martial arts and some basic exercise routines, done mainly to keep himself healthy rather than anything else. He was blessed with fairly handsome face, but tends to somehow neglect his appearance, which is evident on is stubble beard and long, black hair that already have few silver pieces among themselves. As he is usually lost in his own thoughts his face and gray eyes tends to look very stern, even through this expression usually doesn´t reflect his actual mood or thoughts.
Outfit and Accessories
Befitting his role as a university professor and minor noble, Gabriel usually wears quality two, sometimes three piece suit with dark shirt and tie accompanied by always perfectly clean formal shoes. He isn´t very fond of any forms of jewelry with the sole exception of golden cufflinks and quality wrist watches.

The style itself currently lack any real offensive capabilities and is concentrated only around deflection of the opponent´s attack and counterattacking via grappling, throwing and locking techniques, that are using the enemy´s strength against them.

Description: Self made martial art, focused on straightforward, fast footwork, which main goal is ot get the user as close to their opponent, as possible, to maximize the effectiveness of knee, elbows and shoulder strikes that are the true specialty of this style. Once the user is inside their opponent´s zone, they start to use short stomping footwork to limit their movements combined with staggering strikes to the vital parts of their body, mainly solar plexus, neck, chin, temple and groins. As a close quarter boxing style, the Imperial Tiger doesn´t contain any kicks (with the exception of few low kicks and it´s characteristic stomping footwork) and no grappling or wrestling techniques.

Description: Self made martial art, focused on circular footwork, together with constant flow like movement of ones arms. The practitioners are employing whole body movements with coiling and uncoiling action that allows them quickly maneuver around the opponent and flow in or out of object´s way. However once the time to take an action comes, Gabriel swiftly switches into more direct footwork, unleashing very aggressive, rapid fire of attack in the form of hand techniques, grapples and throws to completely obliterate any opponent, before pulling back again into the circular footwork. This swift switching between circular, evasive and fast, direct techniques makes the Imperial Phoenix into ideal style for fights with bigger number of opponents.
Background
Childhood
Gabriel was born in North Blue as illegitimate son of local nobleman and opera singer. His father never acknowledge him publicly, but still paid his mother regularly enough to ensure his progeny will live in relative comfort and safety. As he was very curious, their home was pretty soon filled with various books with very broad range of topic from fiction, through history to a mathematics and physic. Maybe because of his mother, he also showed interest in music, but since he lacked any real talent either as a singer nor musician, she quickly lost any hopes of him continuing in her footsteps. Despite this, she was very supportive to him and bought him as many books as she could. Thanks to that ten years old Gabriel probably already read more books than anyone else in the city including several scholars and when he turned eighteen he could rarely find a book he already didn´t read in the past.
College Years
As his hunger for new knowledge was still strong he signed for a nearby university and passed the entrance exam on his first try. Picking the fields he was interested in, he finished his studies in four years with two master degrees, one in history and second in philosophy. During this period he also picked several martial arts, but even through he continued practice them ever since, he never reached any real skills with them as his main interest was always the philosophy behind them and not the art itself. Even through, they came handy to him few times as a mean of self defense during attempted robbery.
Postgraduate Years
In a world where history is considered dangerous, there is not much work for historians and so Gabriel stayed at the university and finished his doctoral degree so he could teach the subject he liked. During his post gradual studies he traveled around the world and even visited the Grand Line few times to gather enough data for his research project, before returning back home. Given the lack of information about his personal life, there were several wild rumors about him and his journey at the university, but he never spoke about his travels outside of the research he conducted.
Later Life
Naturally intelligent, well educated and loved by his students, Gabriel quickly rose in the ranks of his faculty and after finishing several books was named a professor, one of the youngest in the schools history. Right around that time his father and half-brother died during a ship wrack leaving him as the sole heir of his father´s title and fortune. His father´s wife did what she could to prevent him to claim his inheritance, but several old letters proved his origins and so Gabriel could move form his apartment to his father´s manor, mainly because he wanted more space for his collection of books. Since he let his father´s wife to live there with him the two of them made a peace between themselves eventually, even through several arguments arose during the years.
