Ruby looked at Zira as she finished explaining her options. That pill sounded dangerous, and she would like to avoid using that if at all possible. Then again....Ruby looked back to Tiger. This was life or death....or worse. Maybe that was the harsh truth of things, but it was one she would never shy away from. This was life. Darwinism at its finest. She chose this, and for whatever their reasons, so had Cornelius and Zira.
It was time to stop holding back.
"Alright Zira. No more talking. This is it." She held her hands out to her side, sweeping her labcoat outwards. She couldn't help but use a negligible amount of power to make it wave as though the wind were moving it, even though that coat alone currently weighed a couple hundred kilograms. They had to avoid damaging the ship. So she couldn't use too much weight, or any attacks that transferred downwards energy into the vessel. Beyond this, she started walking forward, prepared to throw everything she had at her enemy. In Ruby's mind, this wasn't even Tiger anymore. He was an accumulation of data and numbers.
He was Opponent. Opponent isn't a person, it's an obstacle. One formed from the sum total of threats it posed to her or her objective. Right now, Opponent was a significant threat. It was highly durable, capable of mortally wounding her with roughly half its attacks, and was as fast as the fastest of her Nakama. And her freedom of options were restricted too. Ruby kept walking, her eyes locked on Opponents sneering face.
"What? You get knocked crazy or are you stupid?" Tiger grumbled, more amused than anything. "No skin off my back. You that eager to serve me? Good! I'll MAKE THIS QUICK!" Tiger suddenly closed the distance between them, crouching low to deliver a straight punch that would have absolutely killed Ruby. Instead, there was a loud, dull crack, and he went down to a knee....Ruby staring him down at eye level.
From her perspective, Opponent spoke, but she didn't register anything as more than junk data. Filtered out, she was scanning his body, his muscle motions, and looking for triggers that would give away his intentions. So when Opponent moved forward, Ruby was already raising her arm. Her Scholar's gambit again, this time modified for use with her Helping Hand arms, performed in an instant. It had been a huge risk, because he could have chosen a dozen or more attacks that she might not have been prepared to counter. But because he underestimated her, he chose the most direct path, and the most predictable one. She would not likely get another chance.
As his right Seastone knuckled fist traveled towards her, her left Helping Hand arm was raising up to perform an angled forearm block. It caught his arm by the wrist, where she had planted her Sticky vial just a millimeter beneath her 'skin'. With his arm literally connected to hers by the fast sealing adhesive and her golden hairs, his foreword momentum traveled through her, aided by subtle shifts in her golden weight, being directed back through her other Helping Hand. If she hadn't been gold, the force he threw into her would have twisted her torso around entirely, breaking her back.
Instead she whipped a tight, knife edge chop directly into his lower jaw.
With a hand that weighed a hundred kilos.
Multiplied by the force of Tiger's own attack.
Ruby snapped back to her normal mode of thinking, just in time to jump into action. While Tiger was dazed by the immense blow she dispersed her Helping Hands back into individual wires and flooded them over his arm, layering several inches of gold over his hand and forearm to weigh it down and keep that Seastone covered up. She barely succeeded before a kick connected with her body, sending her sprawling heavily across the floorboards. Her golden form protected her, and it looked like he even bloodied his foot on her scaled armorcoat. He was angry too, clearly enraged, but not making any sudden moves. That hit had hurt him for sure, though she couldn't be sure how much. Enough that he was taking her more serious now based on the intensity of his glare.
"Alright! You think your martial arts are special?!" She taunted, keeping his attention, and anger focused on her. "You fool. You terribly sad, poor, helpless, incompetent fool!" Ruby adjusted her glasses with a smirk. "Do you not even know your precious martial arts are based on SCIENCE?! You can never defeat me because I know your every move. Your reflexes, your choices, your very thoughts can all be predicted!" She laughed. "I pity you, you are playing a game that is rigged against you.....and you don't even understand the rules."
