Lilin Post #8 / Tally Post #7
Tally smiled at Syph's comment about a navigator. "So she'll be joining your lot... I can't imagine you remember, 'Hotaru', but I appreciate you taking her with you after all." The events at Namakura seemed so far away now, but she could still remember the breakout quite well. "Ah, but yes. The trip itself is quite perilous - but it's one I feel confident saying I can make smooth sailing."
She glanced away from Syphalia again, over in the direction of the immense structure ahead of the ship. "Oh! I'm sorry, this was poor timing on my part," she spoke quickly - her tea shades were quickly replaced, although her bandana was left in her pocket for the time being. "I think I'll go on ahead of the ship to see about securing a place for us to dock..." Tally stared out ahead of the ship for a moment, not moving or speaking, before turning back to the smaller woman with a smile. "It's not the most pressing topic, but... I would like to finish this talk before we set sail again, if it isn't a bother."
The fishwoman hardly waited for a response before walking over to the ship's railing. She stopped there before giving Syph a final wave - and then she had thrown herself over the railing, diving into the water below and taking off toward The Reminiscence.
Black smoke poured forth from Lilin's chest in a column, twisting about the room like a monstrous arm while the woman remained laid out on the floor. A thick cloud formed at the end of the column as it moved about the room, grabbing a series of objects - and then it retreated back into the woman's chest, leaving a small bag of dried herbs and such and a fresh box of matches on her shirt.
Unable to complete the task of lighting her pipe horizontally, Lilin sat up and began working at it with deft, unnervingly jittery motions. With the pipe lit, she extinguished the match by popping it into her mouth - she spat it out a moment later along with the first stream of smoke, and then pulled her knees up to her chest.
There were options, to be certain. She could just vanish into the night and never look back - a prospect that seemed more enticing than her old standby strategy of causing some mayhem first, or stealing what she thought she was owed. Or... "Gah, come off it, tha know what tha need to do, tha sodden-brained fool..." Lilin muttered, and then took a long, sharp inhale on her pipe, bringing the warming smoke into her system. She held it there for a moment, waiting until thin, ghostly trails of it were beginning to pour from her nostrils, and then blew it all out toward the ceiling.
