Personality
A somewhat surly and disillusioned being, Orous has dedicated his life to living in reality rather than focusing on inane dreams. Whether because of the new Age of Pirates causing only a select few to reach them, or his past, it's hard to say. At any rate, Orous considers himself a realist; we can only achieve what we were meant to, and for him it was always to sink into obscurity. His lifelong dream of becoming a carpenter and shipwright was destroyed, and therefore, he deemed that it simply wasnt meant to be.
He's considered by his patrons and those of the island that he lives on as a pessimist, often balking at the idea of dreams with sarcasm. Strangely, he seems to keep his mouth shut on the matter around children; some might say he has a soft spot for them, but they're likely to be fixed with a cold glare if they did. Despite the stigma around fishmen, Orous has never once been seen to raise his hand in violence; while not a pacifist, he seems too tired and defeated to bother with retaliation. Some have even deemed him "Roro the Shield" due to his tendency to take a punch for anyone too weak to fight back in a brawl.
Appearance
Standing at roughly 7ft, Orous seems particularly small compared to most other fishmen (or at least the stories of fishmen by those in the North Blue), though he still manages to rise a head over most other species. Taking features from the Tiger shark species, Orous has rough, brown scaled skin along his back, while his chest and stomach take on a lighter tan. Smooth black hair, pulled into a bun, bobs on the back of his head.
Orous has taken to dressing himself in an opened, pink dress shirt, revealing his powerful body underneath; being the piece of clothing he arrived to the South Blue in, he considers it a memento piece. Below he wears a pair of yellow swim trunks with a pink floral pattern. Bamboo holds his bun in place.
His jaw is actually the most notable feature about him; a wide mouth and serrated teeth give Orous a sinister grin should he ever smile. To put people at ease, he's taken to wearing a bandanna across his mouth, one that's been drawn on by the children of Notice, leaving quite a colorful and ornate mask for his fearsome maw (though the kids themselves have been noted to say his jaws are "way cooler!")
Traits
Inhuman Strength: Due to his biology and life before the South Blue, Orous has strength that surpasses that of regular humans. Compared to other notable fishmen like Arlong and Hody Jones, however, Orous is notably weaker due to his resistance to fighting for his beliefs. He's considered a runt compared to more conventional fishmen.
Amphibious: Orous is able to breathe and travel between both land and sea, due to his biology.
Crushing jaws: Due to his species, Orous finds hes able to bite into and devour most inedible objects with relative ease. There is a limit, of course; at the moment, he can only manage to crush something as hard as rock in his jaws. Metal is outside of his strength. Like with other Shark Species Fishmen, Orous has the ability to grow a set of replacement teeth mere moments after the old set is lost. This comes in handy for the Fishman, as his teeth are his main form of combat, though this also means any discarded set can be used against him.

Fighting Styles:
Fishman Brawling
Rank: E
Description: Being unable to learn the fundamentals of Fishman Karate, Orous simply has to get by on what he considers to be "good enough." Fishman Brawling is essentially typical brawling, but with the added benefit of Orous' species attributes.
Techniques:
Fishman Grapple (Rank 0: 0XPZ): Rather than attempt to dodge, Orous has deemed it necessary to take a punch in order to get closer to his opponents. He either can react in physical combat to trap opponent limbs when they swing, or he can take the full punishment and grip onto them for dear life, bringing them into full range of his nasty bite.
Shark Bite (300 pound press)/(Rank 1: 50 XPZ): If there's anything Orous is known for, it's his bite. As a Tigershark variant, Orous can not only eat most anything, he has the jaws for it. A bite from Orous is liable to break bone if it lands, and his grip allows him to stay attached even in the face of powerful blows. With more experience, he might even one day be able to crush steel between his jaws.

Background:
A young fishman boy dreamed of being a legendary shipwright, with his various plans and inventions going on to serve the most powerful of sailors in the world. His dream was to one day rival that of the legendary Tom and his ship, the Oro Jackson; the ship that carried the King of the Pirates.
While many of the other fishmen were regaled with tales of peace with the surface or the damnation of humanity, Orous spent his spare time attempting to hone his craftsmanship. This eventually led to trouble within the Fishman district, as several of them began to take notice of how much time he spent with human visitors (and especially pirates). Orous was taking the time to ask questions and sketch out plans for visiting ships, all the while listening to adventures from various pirates about their travels on The Grand Line. This especially brought him into heated debates with his older brother, Borous, who regarded his brother as a sentimental weakling. Orous had been beaten many times by his brother and his band of stooges for hanging around with humans, but his fascination always led to him getting back up.
Orous, at the age of 16, managed to build his first model ship within the privacy of the Sea Forest, among the ruins of many other pirate ships to use as material. While Orous believed this to be private, in all actuality, Borous had been following him, curious on what his brother was doing so far from home. Once he discovered the prototype ship, Borous' rage became limitless and he came to a final decision: Orous was no longer his brother. One day, when Orous came back to put the finishing touches on his model, he found only the splinters of what remained at the feet of Borous and his gang. "If you want to be like those humans so badly, we'll treat you like one."
What followed was the most vicious beating of Orous' life; throughout it all, he begged and pleaded for his brother to stop, but he never lifted a finger in retaliation. The combination of his hard work and his brother's hatred had broken Orous' spirit. Needless to say, he passed out well before they had finished. When Orous awoke, he had been tied and gagged, stowed away within the bowels of a ship, with only a single note to keep him company:
"Never return to Fishman Island; we'll kill you if you do."
Orous was found later by the crew on board; he had been loaded onto a shipping vessel, and none were too pleased with having a Fishman brought to the Saboady Archipelago. Once they surfaced, the crew dumped Orous on land, leaving him in dangerous territory. It wasn't terribly long before Orous found himself captured and brought to the Human Auctioning House on GR 1. It was here that he was bought by the captain of a pirate crew and put to work as the deckboy on board their ship. Everyday, Orous was faced with ridicule and threats of death by the crew; many even promised to take him back to Sabaody and make sure he ended up in the hands of a Celestial Dragon if he didn't pick up the pace. All the while, Orous consoled himself by studying the craftsmanship of the vessel, learning the ins and outs and continuing his dream of being the world's greatest shipwright. The captain eventually noticed Orous plans, putting him to work on ship repairs to "prove how much this dreams means to ye." Orous' spirits lifted as he set to work, going so far as to even impress the crew.
However, luck dashed his dreams once more as a naval ship attacked the pirate vessel, leaving it in splinters and Orous among the wreckage. The navy managed to find the young fishman and give him a fresh pair of clothes; at the mere mention of bringing him to Fishman Island, Orous vehemently refused. With that, the Navy managed to keep Orous with them until they found him a home in the North Blue, on Notice island. It was here that Orous continued to live his life, attempting to make something of his woodwork skills...that is until pirates returned once more. Raiding the town, pirates ransacked every home before discovering Orous living on the outskirts in a self-made hut. Having had their own encounters with Fishmen, the pirates destroyed the ship Orous had been working on and nearly killed him when Orous fought back for the first time in his life...and bit the hand off of their pirate captain.
The crew fled the scene, but while Orous was safe, he saw that Notice Island was left as a mess with citizens left homeless. Orous has a revelation that its selfish to dream when others have so little to depend on. As such, Orous decides to give up on his dreams of sailing in a ship of his own design, resolving to become a part of the community of Notice Island. He took a job as a bartender and used his shipwright prowess to rebuild and renovate the village. Over the years the island became more and more of a hub for travelling visitors, both for its peaceful open marketplace and the novelty of a Fishman for many of the North Blue. While Orous maintains he's at peace with his decision, he still can't help but feel remorse at the fact that his whole life was made at the decision of others. His whole life, he never sailed the sea on a deck he made with his own two hands.
