Jaq Post #16
Aboard the cargo-ship the group of Shoguns huddled upon the deck remained. Luckily it seemed it had only been Jaq in the end who had been tossed overboard by the waters during the ship's rise. Now they were sat upon the deck shivering from the soaking they'd been through. For Jaq he could do not much else, his strength had returned but it was still rather meager given what felt like internal injuries and still recovering from the exhaustion that was unique in having his strength drained by the sea.
He glanced over to where Del sat, he looked even worse than Jaq felt. The doctor was barely sitting upon his own two legs hunched over beside Lyn. His whole body shivered as he directed Kitty who was doing slightly better than he was. The pair were working over the exhausted merwoman who was bleeding out once again. Lyn had definitely been having a bad day given how often they'd seemed to manage to reopen whatever wounds she'd gotten. The wound which was, quite large from what he could see. It was a reminder that Jaq hadn't done his job properly. He gritted his teeth as Arlen walked over.
The quartermaster seemed, okay all things considered. There were patches of damp blood upon his clothing but he seemed to be holding up better than most. "What's up Arlen?" Jaq asked the quartermaster as he walked over. "Nothing really. Worrying slightly." He said glancing backwards towards the shore and the island they were now a distance from. "And the others?"
Their eyes met. And the quartermaster shrugged "Fine. At least for those here." Arlen said his thoughts obviously elsewhere.
"She'll be fine, you know it Arlen." Kitty said as she continued to work over Lyn under Del's instruction. "Still." He responded and there was an understanding nod from the core members about them. Jaq could hear it, the worry spread among them even if they weren't voicing it. And for him to hear it, it was truly obvious.
