The sun's flaxen light shined through the roofless ruin. Various tunnels leading into the central location each one dark like the gaping maw of a wolf amidst a moonlit night about to attack its prey. A swishing ot water like the sound of a child playing in puddles came from one of the tunnels interrupting the silence. As did the sight of two fox-like eyes that seemed to come ever closer.
Finally, Reynard left the damp tunnel with his feet submerged in ankle-deep water which flooded the ruin's mossy stone floor. Rusted chains hung from the gritty stone brick walls as if this ruin was meant to keep a threatening beast chained and confined. The old chains and the decrepit state of the building suggesting such a beast had long escaped its prison to cause havoc... likely causing the demise of whatever people created the stronghold. Reynard looked up seeing the blue sky and the familiar yellow sun that never changed no matter where in the world he stood. The roof was not perfectly round, following the almost uncanny symmetry of the ruins. Whoever built them and for whatever purpose where without a doubt artisans likely ahead of their time in architecture.
As Reynard stood under the gaping roofless ceiling the sunlight glazed itself over his brown hair. He stood there for a moment basking himself in the warm sunlight taking soft deep breathes. That was until he heard movement in the water coming from one of the nearby tunnels. "Who goes there? Whoever you are I am not afraid! I'll give you the beat down of a lifetime if you come any closer!" The handsome man threatened. Putting himself in a fighting position, his fox-tail swishing in anticipation for what was about to come. At the sound of Reynard's voice bundles of Monkeys began to creep from within other tunnels that where at higher levels. White furred macaques with red faces and beady eyes... they took their seats up above staring at the man... like spectators at an arena.
