Personality
Draftee: Unlike some marines Dagon was drafted into the organization via the worldwide draft. He sees it as a means of learning new martial arts and traveling rather than a tool for justice or peace.
Socially stunted: Dagon has a long-held problem with expressing emotions and connecting with other people. People and relationships are a mystery to him. Rather than say something positive or negative Dagon prefers to express himself via cooking or fighting.
Laconic: Dagon prefers to keep his sentences short and to the point when dealing with people. Will sometimes attempt to be more verbose and friendly by using note cards his little brother writes for him.
Anti-slavery: One of Dagon's goals is to free his fishman grandfather from slavery. Growing up hearing about the slave trade from both of his parents have imprinted with him a desire to see that particular institution abolished.
Fighting Enthusiast: He will become chatty when the subject of fighting comes up, particularly pertaining to styles he finds interesting.
Chef: Enjoys eating and cooking food spiced enough to cause severe pain to most. It also means he is hesitant to eat other people's cooking.
Asexual: Has no attraction towards men or women and exhibits indifference or annoyance regarding the desires of others.
Big brother: A life spent defending his younger brother left Dagon with a sub-conscious desire to defend people who are picked on. Okama in particular. Has a love/hate relationship with obnoxious children like his younger brother Zenit.
Personal space issues: Dagon will ask questions or attempt to engage in conversation in places and at times that most find inappropriate like in the shower or in the middle of dates.
Friends in low places: Dagon has more than a few acquaintances outside of the law due to growing up in Pirate's Market and working for a smuggler as a teen. This has left him with a bevy of contacts in the criminal community.
Dreamer: Dagon's dream is to learn and master every fighting style the world has to offer. He sees fighting as his best means of interacting with the world and people and longs to learn all he can.
Undefined Justice: Dagon struggles with the complexities of morality and power dynamics which leads to an inconsistent dispensation of justice.
Cynical: Dagon believes that most people drift towards evil and weakness and rarely can change. He only cares how people exert their evil and weakness.
Appearance
Belying his physical strength, Dagon has a slim body and generally feminine appearance. His skin is naturally soft and smooth and at first glace appears to be flat-chested but pretty woman with a punk aesthetic. The lipstick and nail polish he wears as a tribute to his okama mentor make his sexuality seem even more ambiguous. His body type is like that of a slightly curvy, well-toned woman.
He keeps his short blonde hair in a mohawk as his mother did which sometimes falls over his blue-grey eyes. He is the tallest of his short family at six feet (1.83 meters) tall.
With his torso exposed a large circular maze tattoo on his neck and back, traveling down both arms becomes his most eye-catching feature. Within the maze on his left arm are symbols of the people that have made a difference in his life or are people he holds close. His brother is represented by a camera, his okama mentor a metal heart, his mother cross-hairs and a demonic sea creature for his father. His right arm he intends to filled with fighting styles he has mastered.

Background
Dagon was born on Pirate's Market to Croin and Sarin Basqiat, a former pirate and believer in fishman superiority and former marine sniper and amputee. Neither parent was fond of people in general and kept to themselves when they could.
Dagon's mother instilled a stoic demeanor and a love of spicy foods while his father passed on cynicism and a love of Fishman Karate.
Dagon grew up quiet and aloof but curious and would often ask philosophical questions of his parents neither of which could answer to his satisfaction, such as the meaning of life and different aspects of morality. He felt a desire to understand people and life in general but had great difficulty in dealing with them. The person he felt closest to was his troublesome little brother Zenit who had a way with people but tended to use it to irritate them.
As a moody teen Dagon would frequent the sketchier parts of Pirate's Market while his little brother picked fights for him. Fighting was his way of dealing with puberty and it's accompanying angst as well as feeling like an outsider even among his family due to his trouble expressing himself and his lack of sexual desire. While he fought things made sense. One day, he picked a massive cyborg to be his opponent. The towering okama cyborg Arkady Kuznetsov merely pinned him to the floor with one hand while bending back several drinks with the other.
After Dagon tired himself out thrashing beneath a weight he could not lift this stranger in a bar gave the angry teen "The Talk". While the curious Dagon knew the mechanics of sexuality he had no idea about the spectrum. The metal man in make-up and high heels with a preference towards men opened the mowhawked youth's eyes to worlds beyond rigid confines of gender and sexuality. After multiple visits with the okama cyborg in the months ahead Dagon found himself more accepting of himself and his lack of sexual desire. That acceptance was even more helpful than the okama kenpo the man had taught him.
Armed with more self-confidence and martial arts than ever, Dagon defended his obnoxious little brother one last time...and was beaten into a short coma. There was a metaphorical awakening to go with his literal one. He knew that if he stayed on his home island his little brother would never grow strong and might eventually get him killed. His parents had told him tales of the sea and he longed to see new lands and study their martial arts.
Dagon spent years traveling the South Blue with Arkady "The Velve Spike" Kuznetsov in all manner of sub-lawful activity making criminal connections until deciding to strike out on his own. He found himself drifting without focus until a Marine recruiter challenged him to a fight. Dagon was felled by techniques he had never seen before like lightning fast speed and air slashes delivered via kicks. When he came to consciousness the wandering martial artist found himself conscripted into the marines and decided to go with it.
Some time during a second round of basic training it was decided that the unruly fighter's strengths would be of better use as an undercover agent in various criminal gangs.
At first Dagon's foray into undercover work bothered him as it seemed tantamount to lying. He was more comfortable with violence than lies. After a time his guilt ebbed once he'd seen the depths some bandits and pirates would sink to in order to attain money. He considers destroying any criminal group that can be fooled by him a deserving fate for sloppy crime.
Dealing with both sides of the law has shown Dagon the worst of both and propelled him to find his own sense of justice within both realms.
