Personality
-- Viper Lee is a cocky and self-assured little brat. He only has one bounty to his name, and that of a relatively inconsequential pirate, but he's let it get to his head, stating with utmost confidence his intention to become the greatest bounty hunter on the eight seas, even to one day take down the Seven Warlords. Yes, he knows all their bounties have been frozen. That's not the point. Those warlords are the most dangerous pirates in the world, and the only reason the marines don't go after them is because they're too cowardly to do so. Lee has no such hangups, and knows that if he wants to prove himself the best bounty hunter on the seas, those are the men to beat.
He ignores all disparaging comments and is quick to challenge his doubters to a duel. Once he's gotten angry at someone, it's almost impossible to dissuade him from attacking, even if they are clearly a superior foe. If he couldn't back up with words with serious swordsmanship skill, he would almost certainly have been killed long ago. The only thing that could convince him to surrender is if he were to be disarmed. Without the Shichishito in hand, Lee is almost helpless and will concede defeat... for now. The kid has a tendency to hold a grudge.
Viper Lee has problems with authority. Every adult in his life up until this point has been cruel, vindictive, or weak, and he has little respect for adults in general, especially since he can beat most of them up. If there were any man in this world he'd actually have some respect for, it would probably be Captain Smoker, a badass hero with a long list of accomplishments and a similar disregard for the higher-ups. Of course, Captain Smoker is a marine, an authority in and of itself, so Lee would probably need to be physically restrained to spend any significant amount of time with the man before running off.
Appearance
-- Lee is relatively short, and doesn't strike a very intimidating figure. Probably his most noticeable feature is the fang that sticks out from the top of his mouth; the genetic trait that gives his family the name "Viper." Additionally, his eyes are auburn, slitted, and carry a hint of snakelike cunning in them. His hair is messy and black, mid-length but not reaching his shoulders due to its tempramental nature.
Lee usually wears marine-issue pants and a tank top; relics from his old life as an ex-marine in training. He also wears a black jacket, covering a series of leather straps that hold his sword in place: a priceless family heirloom called the Shichishito, a bright green blade said to contain incredible power.
Traits
-- None
Equipment
Name: The Shichishito
Fighting Style: Shichishito-Ryu
Rank: 2
Description: A bright green blade with seven points; three on either side in an alternating pattern, with the seventh being the point on the end of the blade. Despite being hundreds of years old, it has never lost its wicked edge and remains as powerful as the day it was first forged. It is made entirely of seastone and has survived multiple generations of use against mighty foes. The original wielder of the blade was Viper Alpha, Lee's ancestor and a swordsman of such great power that he could destroy entire armies with a single swing of the Shichishito. It has been lost to the annals of history how much can be attributed to Alpha's skill or the Shichishito's power, but it is commonly agreed that neither could do it without the other. Lee refuses to get rid of it, believing himself to be the only one worthy of wielding the sword. Supposedly, it contains hidden potential much greater than it currently exhibits, that can only be unlocked by a worthy Viper.

Background
-- Viper Lee grew up in a broken home in the West Blue. His father was an heir to old money, and his mother was a gold-digger who left him after spending his every last dime. His father, Viper Kay, had to take out a loan from a group of loan sharks to maintain a decent lifestyle; but when Lee was only ten years old, the money ran out and the loan sharks (literal sharks; they were fishmen) expected reimbursement. Since Kay had no money to pay them back, they tried to take Lee, impressing him into servitude, but Kay slew the bruisers who had come to collect with the last relic of his noble family: the Shichishito. The two escaped from the area and went into hiding in the city.
It was here that Lee learned the art of crime, doing odd jobs for criminals that abused the poor ten-year-old boy. His only ally was Kay, who taught him the art of swordplay with the Shichishito. Lee learned fast, and quickly outpaced his father, who was in all honesty a frail person. Lee resented his father, as the old man disapproved of his participation in the local fight club, saying it was far too risky, and he would get caught. Why couldn't he be more like their ancestor, Viper Alpha, a man who had once been feared far and wide as the world's greatest swordsman, a man so fearsome that he could paralyze his foes just by looking at them?
Seeking an escape from the life of crime and his father's overbearing nature, Lee enlisted in the marines. It was here he hoped to take his revenge on the criminals who had abused him, by putting them behind bars for the rest of their miserable lives. He got in easily enough due to his impressive physical abilities, but his rebellious nature got him into a lot of trouble as a chore boy.
This led to him returning to old habits, by going back to the fight club. One night, he fought a woman with some strange magical ability to turn her bones into weapons and armor! He later found out that this was a Devil Fruit, a magical fruit he had previously thought to be merely an urban legend. He managed to beat the woman, but found out that she was the right hand woman of a local loan shark... a loan shark he instantly recognized as being the one his father had run from!
The fight was a long and grueling one, but Lee managed to pull a fighting spirit out from his subconscious that even the fishman before him was unprepared for. He slew the man, but his actions caused him to be expelled from the marines, while his dad disowned him for using the Shichishito to do it. Without a home or a job, Lee still wanted to do the right thing. He resolved to become a bounty hunter, the best damn bounty hunter in the world!
