Lilin Post #20 / Tally Post #20
The smoke pouring from her mouth and nose grew darker and thicker, billowing out in great clouds now that wreathed her face. Her hands were clenched tight in tiny fists - tight enough that her nails drew blood, but Lilin barely felt it. She couldn't feel it, not while-
The Smoking Devil took a heavy step toward Arlen, cracking the Dancing Red's deck with the force of the action. "So that's it, then? Tha all sail under her banner until it's convenient to leave her behind? I thought all of tha stronger people than that." Lilin opened her mouth, spitting through the smoke at the quartermaster's feet. "Aye. None of tha here can fly. But I can."
Lilin's form dissipated into a black silhouette, and then collapsed inward on itself - a twister of black smoke that took off from the ship and into the night sky, leaving a thick coating of choking smoke across the deck of the ship as her sole parting gift.
"The one who was taken was your captain, then?" Tally took a few steps forward, standing behind Arlen now. "I... Know it isn't much, but... You have my condolences."
That... Wasn't enough. Her condolences - what did they matter? It seemed unlikely that this little crew had come here to rescue herself and the others trapped here, at least not as their primary goal, but rescue them they had. And the only thing they had to show for it was a fractured crew, a body without a head, and now one of the limbs was flying off as well. Tally turned away from Arlen, planting her six hands on the railing of the ship as a plan of action started to form.
They had taken a gamble and lost. That was worth something.
"I... Know where that woman is heading. I can get you all there, if... If you want to take on the Black Coven, and get your captain back."
