Syph Post #14 / Jaq Post #13
Placing his two hands behind him Jaq leaned back looking up into the darkened sky. It boomed with thunder, crackled with lightning. The winds were picking up and the rains beginning to fall. Jaq smiled up at it, he loved a good storm. Laying back on his hands he closed his eyes. The feel of the rain drumming upon his bare chest was nice.
He took a breath, air filled his lungs his chest rising. Mouth opening it flowed out in a long breath. Jaq leaned forward bringing his two arms before him. Carefully looking at the bread crust still stuck upon his hand he picked at it. "It's useful but, how do I redo it." He said pursing his lips and frowning as he stared at it. The boxer grasped a larger piece of crust on the back of his palm. With a fierce pull he ripped it off of his hand wincing as he did so. Beneath it his hand looked strange, "I'd have to bake myself I guess." He said nodding to himself.
Holding the bread crust in his hands he brought it up to his face and sniffed it for a moment. Opening his mouth he stuffed the edge of it in and bit down. His teeth pressed down causing it to crackle. The taste was, unappetizing. Jaq spat it out immediately dropping the crust to the ground.
"Well that's unfortunate." The boxer said grimacing to himself. Slowly he went to work peeling off the rest of the breadcrust which covered his hands and parts of his chest.
The bolt crackled as it fell, streaking down from the heavens it split. From one to four, to seven like a river into tributaries it fell upon the clearing where she stood. About her, her fellows who could jumped. Arlen ducked beneath a wooden construct, Kitty fell flat on the ground as did Del who placed his metallic hand on the ground for safety.
Syph's eyes stared up as she planted Little Wolf into the ground blade first. Then she jumped rolling away from the blade. Staying low she looked up at the incoming bolts. Hitting the ground with force each bolt struck seeming to shatter the land beneath it. The ground itself churned crackling with energy as it tried to dissipate the black lightning. "Arlen! My blade!" Before she'd noted Gyato didn't have it, which meant Arlen must've been holding it.
She held out a hand in his direction. The marksman tossed the black blade at her. The sheath hit her hand perfectly her fingers wrapping about it. Her eyes narrowed, "Arlen get them out now." She ordered as she watched the figure in the sky descend another ball of lightning gathering toward their hands. The quartermaster looked around signaling with his hand for Kitty and Del Ray to get out.
"Syph." He said, but she didn't respond. He looked on wordlessly before looking down at Gyato who still lay on the ground. Arlen ran forward grabbing Gyato and slinging him onto his shoulder. The figure threw the next black bolt.
"Shit!" Syph dashed, he wouldn't be able to get away in time. Kurohime her black blade was drawn. Barreling forward she slammed into Arlen and Gyato sending them tumbling into a nearby brush.
Haki poured into her blade as she got it barely between her and the black bolt of lightning. Her hand twisted as she tried to get the tip into the ground. It hit her blade, the metal a lightning rod for this. Her body screamed in agony as without a way to discharge it safely, it coursed through her to the ground. Breath abandoned her and the tip of the blade finally hit the ground discharging what was left into the earth. Every bit of her felt wrong and off pain screeched through her.
Dropping to a knee, her body felt crispy. She bit down on her lip trying to create a pain to ignore the one calling her to collapse. Anger built on her face as she looked up. Staring up at the descending figure. "Still awake. Impressive." Arlen, Gyato, Lilin, Jaq, Kitty, Del, her haki confirmed they were still alive. Those that could were getting away.
A flash of lightning revealed the figure. Swathed in a black cloak she held a staff in her hand and appeared to be walking upon the air itself. Her white hair illuminated in the darkness she stood above Syphalia looking down at her.
It took so much for her, but Syph pressed up from the bent knee she stood both hands grasping Kurohime for support.
"You think to stand before me?" The Mistress of the Black Coven laughed. Her dark green eyes looked down upon her in disgust. Within that woman something built up. The rarity, the third color, a burst of will-breaking haki roared out of the Mistress as she declared."BEND!"
