Despite her size and pride, Khali was happy that the swordsman did as he was told. That electric shock was strong indeed and she could not take much more. She recovered as he was being pulled from his cell. Guards had appeared and were working on her cell as well. The men who came inside simply held up a remote as warning, to remind her she was a simple click away from agonizing pain. They did the same for the Marine. All of them were led out of their Cells, and Khali saw for the first time how he’d been treated. The marine was badly bruised, but seemed no worse for wear. He walked with confidence despite having been forced to remove his uniform and put on something more garish and entertaining. He was quite fit despite his age, and filled out his wrestling leotard quite well. Though his bristling mustache and masculinity was hilariously contrasted by the bright yellow tights and his Luchador mask displaying the features of an adorable kitten.
Khali forced herself to ignore it, and followed the guards. She needed to figure out a plan. If she could stall during the fights, or fight long enough to come up with an escape then that was her only real option. Fairly soon they were all led into a massive arena that staggered Khali in its cope. How was this underground? She got her answer by looking up. Way up high, at the apex of the hundred meter or so ceiling was a circular opening that allowed moonlight to lance through unhindered. This answered her thoughts when she noticed the swaying of the moon back and forth in the opening.
“We are on a ship.” Khali grumbled loudly, but more than enough for Ryu and the Marine to hear. While the swordsman was preparing for a fight, the Marine looked up and grunted.
“Ha! I just won a bet! I theorized that they were not even operating in Loguetown but on some kind of sea vessel.” The marine scratched his chin and became lost in thought. Khali just shrugged uncomfortably. “This will make escape more complicated, but knowledge can only ever help us. Good catch girl.” Khali didn’t like being called girl.
“And now for the first match of the night! Feast your eyes one and all!” Khali’s attention was drawn to the arena and the loudspeaker that boomed through it. She didn’t see a crowd at all, rather the walls were lined with long rectangular glass windows. Khali could see shadowy figures behind them. The crowd must be kept safely where the fighters couldn’t get them. Still. To Khali the windows were a possible weak point she could attack. “For both your viewing and bidding pleasure I present our first fighter and item up for auction......BLUE TIGER!” The nickname must have been created for the swordsman, who Khali still didn’t even know the name of.
“A swordsman from the Far East! A man both physically fit and dashing to boot! Need a body guard? Need some Mink eye candy for your collection? Look no further!” The announcer really lathered it on. At the same time, one of dozens of doors that lined the circular walls of the arena opened across from them, and then another a few doors away. “Just to demonstrate this exceptional specimens abilities, we have created a special scenario for you today!” Out of the nearby door came three women and two men. One of the women appeared geared up for a fight, with long, flowing purple curls hanging from beneath a iron helmet. She was wearing little more than a metal bikini that hardly looked able to protect her, in one hand she wielded a metal buckler, while the other gripped a short bladed sword. She looked heavily bruised, and Khali couldn’t tell her age. The other people seemed like common civilians. They were dressed in rags, loincloths and torn burlap shirts. Each was carrying a dagger, but little else, and all seemed to back up behind the purple haired warrior.
“Watch as Blue Tiger’s swordsmanship and speed is put to the test!” Out of the door at the end of the room came a snarling pack of bizarre, doglike beasts with bright green, fishlike skin and gaping fanged maws. They looked like some abominable fusing of a crocodile, a wolf, and a barracuda. Seven in total. Khali tensed herself and got ready for a fight without her weapon when a guard waved the button and declared that they would sit out of the fight. It seemed the swordsman would be forced to fight alone this time. “Our disposable competitors have been dosed with a pheromone for our little critters here! They think of only the need to feed! Can our swordsman keep the wretched, filthy commoners alive? If he can, you can be sure he would do the same for you! Contact your auction attendant to place bids now.” Khali growled. She hated this. It was disgusting and cruel! And yet the purple haired warrior seemed to draw the prisoners into a tight formation with her between them and the creatures. Still it was time to see what this Blue Tiger could do.
